I don't think so, it looks like two triangular "throwing stars" on top of a
patio umbrella stand.

People kept talking about new weapons but as far as I can tell the only 'new' weapon is that giant bone. Everything else is just a combination of pieces that are already in existence.

I was going to post some sort of rebuttal, but the pictures are gone again.

Well I still have the photos but something tells me LEGO is seriously going to some severe ends to have them removed.

Yeah. These must be a late 2011 release, because this level of vigilance is kinda ridiculous for sets that are going to be released in three months. Either that, or they think be teasing us with momentary glimpses of new sets is going to drive us into a buying fervor. If it's the latter, it's working. ;)

Opps. I thought you were talking about the blue ninja on the top thing with the spear.

If it's on the LEGO site, they're almost ready to unveil it.

It was a write-up on the rules of the game associated with the sets. Basically, you set up your figure with a weapon and a spinning base, your opponent does the same. You spin them (somehow, I presume we'll find out) and while they're spinning you play your cards against each other (the rules to which were on the second page of the document). The first minifigure to fall (whether due to lack of momentum or being hit by the other figures weapon) loses. The minifigure that wins gets the weapon used by the losing opponent. They tell you to give back all weapons at the end of the game ;)
Oh, yeah, and you have to yell "NINJAGO!" when you spin your figures. LEGO will take away all your stuff if you don't ;)

I'm guessing it's done by hand. The bases have a boat bumper attached to the bottom to make them spin better.

Probably by spamming a button with some fancy technic gear set up or by pushing and pulling a lever.

From what I remember, it looked like you do it by placing one finger on either side of the base and moving them quickly in opposite directions to generate the spin.

That's...unoriginal. I wonder what the base will be comprised of?
