I've seen that said before too but have had no problems with them and they came in handy for my layout allowing customized turns.

Looks like we won't have to spend like $300 aftermarket for the level crossing ramp anymore!

So i just visited TLG website, and saw the trains are available for purchase. Problem is the price . . .

$200 for the cargo train? Seems a bit high compared to the last couple cargo trains.
$180 for the Passenger train? hmmmm....

I am not gonna turn my nose up to them, but i would like to have saved a little of that for other sets.

Still very EXCITED to get my hands on both of these. Not gonna wait for the inevitable discounts on these sets, ill wait for the discounts for my second of each.

In Canada blue cargo train is $230 CAD. The yellow cargo train is $240 CAD. I think blue train has 887 pieces, yellow train has 839.

Now that these sets are out has anyone here purchased them?
Im looking at getting these sets some time and am curious of any input any recent builders have?

The passenger train is $150, not $180.

However the train station is $65 and is the ugliest one LEGO has ever made. It's really bizarre looking and way over priced. It's a $50 set and not even a decent one at that.

I am typically not interested in trains at all, but I really love the way 60052 looks. However with so many other high end sets I buy, it's hard to justify squeezing another one in!

Opinions Please!

When is the best time to bite on purchasing Lego train sets? I have seen different trends in the past, for train sets coming and going. Some come and go fast, and the aftermarket is insane. Others stick around for a long time and we see deep discounts?

Any guesses on what we may see with the 2014 trains (And Train station)?

The trains not in the city line come and go faster than the City Train sets, like the Emerald one and the orange one. So these sets will be around I'd say for 3-5 years. Which is a shame because the train station is ugly, weird an horribly overpriced.

Yeah, I would agree. The last Cargo train was from 2011 and just was retired to make way for this train in mid 2014, so 3-5 years would be right in line.

Although I hope that the train station has a derailment and a new one has to be built so we get a bit better design.

Has anyone picked up the Passenger train? Just put it together and notice issues with the rear car having a wheel slip off the track while heading into the turns. Can't seem to figure out what is the cause.

Seems like the Horizon Express is Sold Out on S@H. Anyone got info on if this is retiring?
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
