2014 LEGO X-Men Minifigures

Post by Toys N Bricks » Sat Jan 04, 2014 8:53 pm

Van De Ven Jari from Belgium provided us an image of two LEGO X-Men 2014 Minifigures: Magneto and Storm. Although there's only just an image of the minifigures, note that this could still be a rumor. However, there's a good chance that we'll get some LEGO X-Men sets soon considering that X-Men is part of Marvel (and LEGO currently has the Marvel license).

It's a real shame that with the large cast of X-Villains available versus the two X-Villains that we've already gotten in LEGO Minifigure form, we're getting *another* Magneto. What a wasted slot.

Yay for Storm, though.

Looks like possibly a "Days of Future Past" sub-theme? Hopefully?

That would be my guess. Lego has based most of their Super Heroes sets on TV/Movie properties (ie.the Avengers, Ultimate Spider-Man, Man of Steel, the Dark Knight). I would still love to see more classic comic book stuff though.

I doubt it. While Disney/Marvel own the rights to the XMEN comics Fox owns the movies rights. But they will just do what they did she nLEGO didn't have the movie rights for the new Batman back in 2006, just make sets that go with the movie that don't really go with the movie.

You're right, I forgot that FOX was the studio behind the X-Men franchise! However, that doesn't mean FOX can't sign a merchandising contract with LEGO. But you're probably right, and we'll have X-Men sets that are loosely based on the movies (like the Wolverine Chopper Showdown set that was sort of based on X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

These X-Men characters (in addition to Storm) are all rumored on YouTube to be coming this year, but who knows:

Cyclops
Rogue
Ice Man
Polaris
Havok
Pyro
Sabretooth
Mystique

Most of these make sense given the LEGO Marvel video game and the characters in the various X-Men movies.

Someone has posted a (not so good) photo of Wolverine with cowl (yes!) fighting a sentinel. I'm guessing (and hoping that the sentinel is just a preliminary). The photo was posted by vriverajr3 on eurobricks the eurobricks post is at this link ..

I wish that the sentinel was bigger. I was hoping it'd have a head about the size of the one they made for Modok.

I'm still looking forward to this set though.

Maybe they can make a Sentinel clock. It'd be about the right size!

Someone on Eurobricks pointed out the price and piece count for the xmen set (76022)- it's on Brickset also -$49.99 with 336 pieces. So maybe another big fig?

It would be nice to see the center of that page instead of just the edges, hehe.

There's a toy fair next month isn't there, or is in March? (I mean one with picture possibility... I think there is one in England coming up soon that no photos are allowed).

That'd be fun. Ooh, and maybe they can make a removable chest plate to cover the clock when it's being used as a giant fig. =)

.

Those are on sites what don't want to be invited back by lego. I saw enough of them at toy fair complaining about not being allowed into the booth.

It looks like EVERY Spring set is marked as SOLD OUT (SW, Chima, HF, SH)... It doesn't make sense every single one of them is sold out. Maybe they pulled them until March 1st?
