Some, but most of the time no. There are certain pieces Lego will never allow you to purchase. I think body, leg, and head pieces that are common across many sets are purchase-able whereas unique pieces are not. EDIT: Just for kicks, I decided to see what you could purchase from the Elsa Castle set....

Or if you really, really, really just want the dogs, you can order them directly from Lego for $2 a piece. I might just do that and return the Helicrane sets I bought.

If all you want are the pups then buy the $40 set from Target. It's on sale for 20% off this week for $32.

I had to return a T-Rawket set last month that someone had filled with trash and empty bottles.

Only thing I can think of is if LEGO shrink-wrapped all their boxes. It won't stop the super-serious people but it should stop a good number who exacto and glue.

Walmart, walmart, walmart. Originally bought a Benny Spaceship for $74 a month ago then found one for $49. The $49 one was opened and missing the instructions. Instead of returning the opened one on the $74 receipt I thought I'd be nice and call LEGO to get the instructions and returned the unopened...

I just bought these last week for the 20% off and $5 off $25. Probably not worth it to rebuy and return for a $3 savings.

If you are still seeing Technics and Bionicles I think it's more likely that people, probably resellers are clearing out the other 50% stuff.

I didn't know that the Lego Store would ship a $10 set to my house for free. Is this supposed to be common knowledge?

Congrats. In the future you may want to check out this thread or the YMMV section in general. LEGO clearances tend to happen after Christmas and right before summer when LEGO introduces it's new sets.

I want that Ghostbuster set too. I was going to wait for April to see if there is a promo item instead of the extra $2.5 I would save from double VIP. Some TRU around me have it for $50, but most others $55. If they have a promo I can combine with the $5 off $25 before it expires (3/21) I'll conside...

Sometimes, it's not worth waiting for Double VIP. It only gives you an extra 5% which for $10 is 50 cents and for $20 a $1 savings.

Winter Village OOS. Was it OOS when you first saw this? Also, some of the sets are overpriced from retail. First time seeing this at Target.

TRU is real sneaky. The minecraft sets are retail online but marked up in-store and they won't allow in-store pickup for those items. Current in-store 20% sales are City, Minecraft and Princess. Current onine 20% sales are City, Minecraft and Star Wars. Assuming you can find an item at MSRP in store...
