Re: Custom Star Wars X-Wing Stealth X

Coolmess.

Been thinking about doing one myself when I found out I had 4 of those black engine nacelles from those SPIII sets. Did you consider putting any dark grey pieces in or was all black your goal?

Re: Open box anxiety

I had a very small stash of unopened sets when I move apartments. In my later purchases I just put more sets into the moving box without removing any to open and play. Then in the summer I was going to set aside at time to build them with a friend. That was until I had difficult and unfortunate time...

Re: [Review] 7751 Ahsoka's Starfighter and Vulture Droid

I agree the original release price was a bit of a obstacle. The set didn't look very novel at the time with another CW-era fighter and that same droid-ship found in Anakin's ROTS fighter set. The buzz droids were only featured in the Obi-wan + Anakin space battle set from the ROTS. Now at present ti...

Re: Kit-bashing a gunship

As an aside, if you were to buy all the parts separately (as opposed to buying a new set) on Bricklink, you would save roughly $55 (although this figure is an average and does not include shipping): http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPOV.asp?itemType=S&itemNo=7676&itemSeq=1&itemQty=1&b...

Re: Organized?

Um many attempts over many years. At the end of the pre dark age I had three large bins out of necessity to put it all away in storage. Only technic got a separate bin. Now my assembled sets for SW are in bins 1 per movie. My parts are broken down by color or color group. When I finish refurbing a r...

Used mine yesterday. The is a link you can use on a mobile displaying a unique bitmap they can scan at the register. Saves you the effort to print them out.

Circuit city bought their inventory on credit and when they folded they owed quite a bit.

Re: Kit-bashing a gunship

Yeah shipping can be a bugger. Since I've been finding other parts outside the gunship I have a good start on those other vehicles I mentioned so I hopefully can bundle some batches of parts to bring them all closer to completion. I can't believe I'm considering bashing the 2007 slave I to do this b...

Re: Borders Possibly Closing

I enjoyed borders. Much better than BN and was around in my area before BN hit the scene. Had much better promotions including those for students/educators. However post BN entry alot of smaller chains and even private operations have folded, been gobbled up or reduced in size. I get many books from...

Those few pictures I had seen are hopefully provisional. It would be disappointing the Cap'n Jack has just a tricorner hat and not the more iconic hair to go with it.

Re: Kit-bashing a gunship

Peeron is most helpful thank you for that lead. Though it would be nice to have the new sets listed to help factor in new releases into the project. For that I check the Lego online instruction PDFs. I am getting along well so far collecting pieces. [boxed kit is listed at 1034  ] Though ther...

Are you interested in the Original Trilogy Star Wars sets or Clone Wars? If you are interested in the minifigures from either line there are several offerings in our general minifigure trading thread. (Including from yours truly 8-) ) I also have Corporate Alliance Tank and some Clone Walker Battle ...

Re: Price per piece ratio vs. pricing people out

Before I used to weigh the difference between getting the flagship ~$100 set or accumulate several of the smaller to medium sized sets (which may be more fun or perhaps have more novel parts or figures.) Now that I am more keen on deals and clearouts I am more of a completist for a theme, with in li...
