There's some info on eurobricks regarding modding the Power Functions module onto the tender. You can't onto the locomotive, there isn't enough room. Just word of warning, PF is pretty expensive.

All mentioned above were 50% off at my TRU even though there were no tags out on the shelves. I confirmed by taking them to the pricechecker.

I know they are skirting the rules but they are definitely hurting the intent. I say Lego will soon ban promos as well with these hard to find sets.

To get the PF on the Lone Ranger train takes quite a bit of modding and the PF module isn't exactly cheap when you try to get the onboard parts and remote. I'm trying to hold out for a good deal on the Lego train sets that already come with the PF module like 7938 or 7939.

Train is $64.99. I'll pass.

I bit on the Black Zero Escape. Cheap way to get movie Superman and Zod.

Most of the ones at my TRU the boxes were creased down the middle due to the tight security wire around each of them. Plus there are a lot of bricks in the box causing it to bulge out.

It was a disaster seller, like Prince of Persia. When I saw this set I thought it was pretty cool, comes with a vehicle, playset, and jedi figs. Just the price scared me. My store had 2 on reserve and 2 left on the floor at opening, I was able to get mine for $50, basically 45% off MSRP ($59.99 + $10 gift card for purchases over $50). Great deal for 645 bricks including 6 minifigs.

Oh darn I missed the train. I'm trying to add LEGO Lone Ranger Stagecoach to my cart. At 60% that's pretty good.

the minifigs are the only reason to get these sets. I packed away the vehicles pretty quickly after I built them.

Wow, how early do you have to show up to get one of these? At most each store will have 2-3.
