Re: [USA] Walmart Clearance Sale

If it makes you feel any better, I had a (horribly time consuming) fail yesterday at a WalMart on Main Street in Pearland, TX. First off, they've removed all of the price scanners in store except for one buried in clothing an another all the way over by grocery. In short, they're about as far from a...

Anyone have the prices for the other TMNT sets in store? I'm guessing MSRP is "sale price" but I'd be happy with a pleasant surprise.

Re: [REVIEW]:Star Wars Planet's Series 3 (triple review)

I thought all of the minifigs for the planets were NON-exclusives in the past (except Lobot) but I guess not anymore. The clone trooper is in one of the battle packs this year but the other two are exclusives

Had not used YoYo before and didn't know about the $20 limit so that was perfect. $54 including tax for a set I've wanted for quite a while!

If you can get them to sell you the Galaxy Squad polybags 30231 for 3.99 each, then you're doing pretty well. They were on the website yesterday but are gone now.

I was at the Pearland, TX WalMart on Main yesterday and they were not out yet. Then again, they still had some CMF 7 and 8 along with the 9s that I picked up.

About this time I'm bummed that there are no longer any KMarts in the state of Texas :(

Re: New US LEGO Brand Stores coming to CT, MO, TX and UT

My sister lives in San Antonio so I could time a visit so that it was the same weekend.

So, with the minifigure sets- how quickly do those sell out? Is it like within minutes and you would have to camp out to get them or just show up within a couple of hours and it's all good?

It's odd because I think it'll be a pretty "investment" set, great at that price. With Luke, Boba Fett, and Lando: those are some excellent minifigs that could command a higher price in a few years.

Re: [USA] TRU $15 off $75+ Purchase In Store.

I actually picked up 8 CMF Series 9's at my local Giant Grocery Store. I wanted to buy the whole box but didn't need to be blowing my whole load there. Same thing. The first time I saw them was at a local HEB (Texas grocery chain). Picked up 3 on Saturday - 2 boxes but they had been picked over so ...

Yeah, I gotta side with this one. The only caveat I'd add is "unless you've got a lot of storage space and do Lego 'investing' professionally"

Re: [US/CA] LEGO Store Calendar March 2013

Three months in and there has yet to be a freebie that's made me get off the sidelines. I considered the January one but Chima at $75 was too high. At that price, I think I'll need something exclusive and either Star Wars, Superheroes, Lord of the Rings, or Ninja Turtles to bite. I'm in no rush.

Re: Toys R Us Has the Super Heroes Duo Funhouse Escape

I think for a future investment set, it's a great one with really popular minifigs, great playability, and limited availability. It seems like it's backordered as often as it's not whenever I look at the S&H. That said, my only copy is no longer MISB as it's a really fun set :)

I picked up 3 minifigs but my TRU had already been cleaned of conquistadors :(

I also picked up 3 of the Star Wars planet sets

And the nice lady working there threw in a Frodo polybag for free :D

So, 3 minifigs, 3 planets, and a Frodo for <$30. Not a bad haul at all

The Target in Houston at Main and Old Spanish Trail had them out on a back endcap in the Halloween section. They didn't have all of the Halloween stuff out but they had the lego ghosts and a Friends one (086-02-0962). I picked up 4 ghosts and there are still a good 20 left. Hooray!

One of the ones I saw was 086-02-0962 but I didn't look too closely at what it was (didn't realize there were multiples). I believe it's the desk but I could be mistaken.

Meijer was kind enough to clear out their series 5 for under $1 a couple of weeks but I haven't seen that at all with series 6 (and it's too early for 7). Still waiting on drops for 6 to get the 5 or so ones I wasn't that interested in and to get more of the ones I did like

The ones I care most about are the battle packs. The Endor one this year was great, the Mandalorians were excellent last year, etc- so it's not like they're going downhill. But I'm a bit disappointed in "Clone Troopers vs Droidekas". I always get a little nervous when there are robots. Are...

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance

Hit up the other WalMart in Pearland, TX today on Main and it made a lot more sense. For being in an arguably worse part of town, it's always a lot more organized than the one over by 288. They tend to have normal items in stock a lot more often and is a lot less of a zoo. However, there aren't the ...
