Re: #71007 LEGO Series 12 Collectable Minifigures

Some of these look nice but if they end up costing 4 bucks a piece I will have to drastically reduce the amount I buy. Since 2010 they have increased the cost by 100%. TLG knows we won't complain as much about the huge markups on smaller purchases but imagine if a new car cost 100% more in 2014 than...

Re: LEGO The Hobbit Lonely Mountain Set 79018

It does seem overpriced and under impressive. FBTB has pictures of the full set, sadly there wasn't anything good to the left that we couldn't see in the original image.

I would be all about the wizard buuuut... I'm not a big fan of that slope for legs. Mine always seem to all end up falling off at the slightest bump. Maybe I just clumsy but I still prefer regular old legs.

Re: Simpsons Minifigures @ TRU

The employees will feel up the packs for kids at the lego store. I've felt them up since series 1. I think it's safe to say most people who post on this board have helped themselves and kids who walk up find the figure they need in a store using the feel method. Anyone buying 20 - 40 figs would prob...

Re: LEGO The Simpsons Series Minifigures (List Revealed)

I probably would have gotten about half of the characters but I feel it will only encourage them to keep the new 4 dollar price for all future CMF series. A 30 percent (if i did my math right) increase is a little steep. No doubt they can justify it on paper but my wallet can't.

Re: No Discounts Policy on LEGO Exclusives & Hard to Find It

"The US Supreme Court ruling in Leegin Creative Leather Products Inc. vs. PSKS Inc. in June, 2007 made it legal for a manufacturer to set and enforce MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) for resellers of its product, and pull the line or sue retailers who violate." Like I was babbling about earl...

Can retailers do the 'see price in cart' routine to legally circumvent the MAP requirement like they do with a lot of other products?

Re: No Discounts Policy on LEGO Exclusives & Hard to Find It

I love how not only is Lego upping the price per piece constantly, but Toys R US goes above and beyond to price Gouge and charge 30% more! Should work both ways then according to this report that seems to be true...... Let's be "CONSISTENT" LEGO GROUP!? I know right. Consistent in sales-s...

Re: No Discounts Policy on LEGO Exclusives & Hard to Find It

That 10% off coupon is a joke. Price fixing at all retailers is a little harsh even if it 'makes sense on paper.' Reminds me of something Sony or Apple would do and I tend to look at them in a very different light than TLG. Perhaps not as much from now on... edit: "The LEGO Group is dedicated t...

Re: 2014 LEGO Star Wars AT-AP Walker Set

Thank you for the comparison because it made me realize wow they can really squeeze in a lot of small parts (what else explains the huge difference in elements?) to jack up the piece count without really giving us more (sorry but I don't count battle droids as figs proper), seemingly just to raise t...

Re: 63 year old AFOL denied entry into Legoland at Vaughan M

After reading the article again I'm thinking that TLG probably looks at the loss of business from denying solo adults as worth it to keep the corporate image squeaky clean. It would be a huge hit if a kid was abducted at one of their attractions. An adult with a kid would seem to be highly unlikely ...

Re: 63 year old AFOL denied entry into Legoland at Vaughan M

I understand why the policy exists but it has huge flaws. Also I find it lame that they don't pay the manager enough to care - what with their record profits lately - but no surprise there I guess. Kids only but make sure you bring LOTS of your parents money kiddos mwahahaha . A Discovery Center is ...

Re: [USA] KMart 50% off Clearance?

I have never been able to get an in store KMart bargain. The closest store is 30 min away so I'll just stay home & read about what everyone else is able to snag. Same here, very few Kmarts in this region. The rare times I do check I usually see what must be toy re-sellers with their carts fille...
