Re: Target winter clearance
Karai Bike was not marked down for me, so YMMV. I confirm Joker Steamroller and Spider-copter... both stupid sets I am not interested in, with plenty of stock, so maybe at 70% for parts. I forgot that I picked up a Bionicle (the purple and gold one) for 30% which has been on the shelves for barely 1...

Re: Target winter clearance
I got the dropship, benny's spaceship, the turtle sub, metalbeard, infearno and a few other smaller things for 30% off. I passed on Hurricane Heist and the X-Men sentinel because they were still so expensive I thought they had marked them up before marking them down... and then I came home and check...

I could care less about Avengers 2 but the Ultron figures, especially the heads, are some of my favorite-looking ones of all time already. Just boss. The Antman figs too. LEGO is taking it to a higher level with some of these.

Re: Walmart winter clearance
What stores did you go to? specific ones please :) Thanks!+ I recommend you hit the ones up on 4, antioch and pittsburgh. They are usually good and there's several in a cluster, but I don't have time for the drive this year. Don't bother with any WMs in the south bay or tri-valley unless it's right...

Are those ZNAP pieces in the Demolition Site Crane!??! Haven't they been out of production for 15 years!?!
That's the first time I've seen a photo of that set as I don't much follow City, and those pieces immediately stood out to me.

Re: TRU - $10 off a $50 purchase (SW, City, Friends)
I hit up that Jedi Cruiser deal too. Best deal I'd seen on it anywhere. This is also a good time to purchase Friends sets, since they never get discounted anywhere (or hardly ever), and TRU has them at RRP right now... buy 50-60 worth, factor in rewards (spending and earning) and its like getting 15...

Re: Walmart winter clearance
does anyone living in the Bay Area, CA, know any walmart clearance? If so, could u plz tell me some specific stores? Thanks! I didn't have much luck. My big score was a Spinlyn's Cavern for $8. That was a wacky one. They had a big metal freight cart of toys out in the middle of the clothing section...

Re: Steal of a Deal
Using the TRU 20% off clearance coupon I snagged a Covenant Scarab, all 3300-odd pieces of it, for just $160. And they still have tons on the shelves so I think I might manage to snag another one even cheaper down the line...as far as I can tell, they sold zero of them over Christmas in my local. An...

Re: McFarlane Toys getting into the brick building market
I'm sure we all hate Nickelback. No justification is required there. That being said, one thing I like about TnB is the absence of LEGO-snobbery, even though I agree that LEGO is in a class of its own, my kid and I have tons of fun with MB and no higher a rate of frustration in building (as a proxy ...

Re: LEGO The Hulk Buster Smash 76031 Set: Official Age of Ul
That is the worst looking mech Lego has ever produced. The Ninjago and Galaxy Squad mechs, among others, were all much better.
Why do all superhero movies sets have to absolutely suck? Is it in the contract? The only thing in that set that looks cool is whatever collar piece Ultron has.

Re: Target winter clearance
To my surprise, they didn't drop the 50% lego to 70% in my area today. But, also to my surprise, almost everything was wiped out at 50%. I think this is the first January I didn't pull any -70s at Target. I did get the sail barge at -50 in the end so that was pleasing.

Today's haul: umbaran MHC 50% off (finally... I don't think any Target I ever visited had sold a single one... I expecte a few to possibly hang around to 70 off even) Sir Fangars' Walker 50% off Droid Gunship 50% Vulture Droid 50% Ninjacopter 40% (it had been marked up before the 50% off) I passed o...

Re: Walmart winter clearance
My local Walmart had literally less than a dozen Lego sets total (Aside from Friends in the girl aisle) when I went on New Years, so I haven't bothered going back. Never seen them that wiped out before, it was weird. Why wouldn't they have new sets stocked at full price at least?

Re: Target winter clearance
My best score so far is Jek-14s stealth fighter for 50% off. Really wanted that and it was really overpriced so I wasn't going to go even at 30% off. Haven't seen anything else hit 50% yet. To my surprise, my local was nearly wiped out at nominal 30% off even though they had marked up everything bef...

Re: A Fresh New Perspective.
I actually like Mega Bloks. I have had more quality problems with LEGO sets than MB sets recently. Grip on pieces is just terrible these days. Sure, MB make some dreck sets, but so does LEGO. (Iron Man 3 sets, anyone?) Minifigs are basically LEGO's main point of differentiation now, along with the d...

Re: Mega Bloks sold to Mattel
The clutch power on LEGOs has been in steep decline, and there is not much difference now. My kid's Mixels won't stay together under even the lightest play... the ball joints hold but the studs don't grip for crap... and that has been the case for at least half of new LEGO sets we get. Anything less...

Re: Wal Mart Markdowns
My hunch that all the sets had been moved to the back (I knew for a fact that they had not sold the same Spongebob sets that had been there for three years, and various other shelfwarmers) was confirmed last week when I watched the employees pull out several pallets and unbox clearance toys. However...

Re: Wal Mart Markdowns
Many of my best WalMart scores over the years had no clearance stickers at all. For one thing, that makes them more likely to stay on the shelves because noobs don't know to scan it all when a sale is in the air. Make the NSA motto your motto: YES, WE SCAN!

Re: Toys R Us Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off All Lego Sun 2-16-22
My local TRUs have new sets on lockdown, the only thing that snuck out was one new HF wave set, marked up the wazoo of course. It was worth the trip though because I snagged two LR Cavalry sets which I completely missed out on all through last year, and with the BOGO, I paid slightly below retail fo...
