Re: 2015 LEGO Bricktober Sets Revealed (40141 40142 40143 40

I agree that they are far too much of a hassle. Couldn't one easily use their own parts and bricklink what they don't have? I do enjoy mini-builds though. Mini Modulars 10230 is ranked very high on my all time favorite sets to build. For an experiment to this theory, I made a part out wanted list f...

Re: 2015 LEGO Bricktober Sets Revealed (40141 40142 40143 40

Why do they release the mini-modulars as a TRU exclusive in which you must make a large purchase to get? These are my favorite sets besides mini SW, and it could be difficult to get multiple. I know that my TRU still has 3 of the 4 from last year's still around. The theater sold out the first week t...

Re: LEGO Monsters Series 14 Minifigures - Now Sold Out

Not all Series are created equal. Look at the after market price of say Series 6 vs Series 8. The availability and price of 6 is better even though it is older. Series 8 is even more expensive than Series 2. Only Series 1 is more expensive.

They are phoning it in for Christmas this year. Re-issuing an old Winter set and doing only one exclusive holiday promo that is not even minifig scale. All previous holiday promos went well with the other Winter sets. With previous years, when they had two separate nice sets plus overlapping double ...

Re: LEGO Physics Achieves 10 000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

I agree this will not make the cut. However, I do want LEGO to make a rail system for a roller coaster. They've been making other theme park rides, but a coaster would really turn heads. I think they'll make several other types of rides before ever attempting a coaster if ever. Like "Rat trap&q...

Re: More LEGO Ghostbuster Products Coming Soon! (part of LEG

I really don't think you'll be able to pick up the minifigures cheap in the future. My prediction: Puft will be $28+ and Slimer will be $18+ when this is discontinued. Unless LEGO over produces like crazy (possible). Or the smart business approach is to discontinue before demand is done and release ...

What's this rough start? I thought it had a solid debut. I got like 10 corner cafes.

Re: What was your first LEGO set?

Not sure, but looking at the catalog, I had many sets from 1977 which doesn't make sense because I was 0 at the time. Not sure how long each of those were in production, but I remember between 5-14, I amassed a large collection. The catalog was smaller back then so I had most of the sets released du...

Re: LEGO Star Wars 10188 Death Star (2008 Set Retiring Soon)

Finally after 7 years. This is good because it opens up a spot for a new $400 Star Wars set in theory. Personally, I think they should do a Space Battle at Endor with Frigate and Home One midi-scale including a dozen mini ships. It would pair up well with the Super Star Destroyer and midi-Star Destr...

This is amazing. This set is timeless. Can't believe it is Ninjago. Although I've always had the theory that any theme has the potential to have a jaw dropping set. (except DUPLO/Junior)

They are back to $35. It might have been a test sale to gauge interest and get more users' feet wet. Like when LEGO sent me Chima starter sets for no reason. Try to draw me in to a new theme.

Re: LEGO SDCC Exclusive - DC Comics ARSENAL

Sure that figure is really cool, but besides that, I have this rant: I think they release exclusive figures in the wrong way. These SDCC/NYCC promos are negative in my eyes. * LEGO doesn't make any direct money from the figure; they just generate buzz hoping that they get indirect sales as a result....

Re: Star Wars LEGO The Force Awakens First Order Stormtroope

Are those shoulder pads a new piece? I don't follow Hero Factory so I am not always keen on the last ~ten years of new parts. I do enjoy the new look of the Stormtrooper. I'm not offended the way I was with Clonetroopers. Their design pained me to look at them. That saved me thousands of dollars by ...

Re: LEGO Angry Birds Sets Coming Spring 2016!

Nooooo. Star Wars, Transformers, now Lego? Angry birds has tried to assimilate into every aspect of toy culture! You said it better than what I was thinking. I can't believe Star Wars and Transformers allowed their IP to get mangled with Angry Birds. I thought LEGO would never drop to this level. T...

Re: Modular Library Reaches 10 000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

Market Street was a modular designed by a fan and was $80. It was pre-Ideas, but there is precedence. I like this set; however it would be subject to this critique:
* Reminiscent of Town Hall
* Too much grey for a modular
* Not enough play variety
* Appeal to only hardcore adult fans
* $200

Re: How come UK gets so many newspaper polybag giveaways?

Well Target in USA had two years of an exclusive giftcard set that included their mascot Spot. And the second year it was a 3-in-1. Sure you had to pay for the giftcard for $5+, but it's easy to spend that. I really miss that promo. There have been other hard to find polys in the USA. I had to buy U...
