Re: The Monster Fighters are not in the New Spring Lego Cata

I have one of each MF set. I haven't put together the mansion or castle yet (ran out of time before Halloween 2012). But of the rest, the best set for me was the train. I also liked the tiny swamp man set, and the Frankenstein set was good too. (Too lazy to look up proper names!) If you manage to fi...

Re: Here we Go Toys R Us Buy One Get One 40% OFF 4/21-4/27

Works out to $2.55 each for the series 10 minifigures. But online is a no-go without adding something else to the order, because they limit you to 5, so I tried 4 (because it's BOGO so in pairs) and then they charge shipping fees because it's a small order. Worth considering for in-store purchasing,...

Re: Toys R Us Flyer Apr 19-25

Amazon.co.uk has this on sale right now. Works out to $51.80 Canadian shipped for me vs. regular price of $89.99, so even with an extra $10 or so if you get via UPS, it's not a bad deal. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006ZS4XLS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creat...

Re: Toys R Us Flyer Apr 19-25

These sets were overpriced and lingered at the shelves since they were released. I am not surprised TRUs finally offers discount, but I actually expect to see 9499 Gungan Sub on sale before 9526 Palpatine's Arrest. After all, 40% off is a good deal. Thx for the head up. I believe the exclusive Quee...

Re: Shop at Home LEGO Double VIP Points Offer Spring 2013

Shame on me for not checking. Just yesterday (Sunday March 24th), I bought a copy of Town Hall in-store with my 10% off coupon. Oh well. Sidebar: I'm hoping they run the same PAB cup promotion that they did last year, which I'm pretty sure was in April. This promo above runs until April 8, so it's s...

Re: Toys R Us Sale March 22-28

You must have been at .com as .ca has it listed on sale, but they're out of stock now anyways. Yes, the American site. Good thing I didn't order it then. :) I've got a 10% off coupon to the Lego store, which I'll probably buy a modular with before it expires. Gotta work toward that valentines day 2...

You guys should try the assistant regional manager. His name is Dwight Shrute.

Re: Toys R Us Sale March 22-28

It's really easy, first you buy the item now. Then with your confirmation email call them back tomorrow and let them know the item you bought is on sale. Give them your confirmation number and they'll process the request and give you a confirmation number for the request. You end up initially payin...

Re: Toys R Us Sale March 22-28

I'm going to remind everyone again: Remember, buy now, price match later. ;) That's the golden rule with TRU and sale on exclusives. Would you mind explaining the process? Do you place an online order today, and then tomorrow go into a shop with the flyer and they do it there? Or do you have ...

Re: Too Much of a Good (Great) Thing?

Your question could almost be boiled down to "does Lego have too many concurrent themes?" I think the answer to that is "yeah sort of, but it seems to be working for them!" I suspect their tactics are working because they're hitting a nice variety of customers. At the same time, ...

Re: Opinion needed about POTC Boats

I agree with Luciant and brickarmor. I don't think the aftermarket value will change much in the foreseeable future. The POTC boats have all but disappeared from shelves. If you're in need of the cash, I would sell them now. I would also say to sell them separately, while noting in the post that you...

Is the shamrock thing a one-day-only? I'm wondering if I can go today and still get that deal.

In addition to the amount, I'm curious if this would stack with the 10% catalog coupon. Thanks.

Re: Name that piece (the Brick/Minifigure identification top

I also did a catalog search for "torso knife", had trouble with that and then had luck with "torso green vest". If you know how BL tends to name its parts, you can find stuff fairly quickly. At first I thought this was an Adventurers fig from maybe Orient Expedition, but didn't s...

He appeared in 8 Ninja sets in 1998/1999:

The toy soldier is included with a minifigures book coming out some time soon (this year). He wasn't supposed to be in this series - reports of that were based on assumptions made from parts found on the Lego website.

Thanks a lot willb2064. You threw tons of info at me and it is all stuff I will use in the future. I really appreciate the time you put in your response. Another few questions. 1b) When do CMFs go on sale and where? I think you meant me? Anyway, CMFs can be hard to catch on sale. You'll sometimes c...

Re: Strange Experience Ordering From TRU.com

The right thing to do would be to inform them of the error and let them send you what you ordered. You could take it to the store with the receipt and they can probably help you there, maybe avoid the hassle of labeling/taping/shipping the box back.
