Re: LEGO is now the World's Largest Toy Company

It also has really high profit margins - i.e. overcharging for toys because it can.

Re: LEGO 75060 UCS Collector Slave I Pictures

A slightly beefed up $119-129 set for $199. Who needs money anyway. If it's anything higher than $199 it will be a bigger rip off than the new UCS Sandcrawler.

If this works as advertised it would be an extremely useful tool. But only OSX or Win 7+ :(

Good luck finding the space to store LEGO's preboxed for shipping. That doubles the space you need.

Re: LEGO fight Against Chinese counterfeit LEGO

Maybe TLG shouldn't produce authentic brand LEGO in China? They have factories all over China. Also eBay won't do anything when you "report" an auction. I've never seen them take down an auction I've reported. Maybe if 1,000 people do it might work, but eBay is notorious for being a haven ...

Re: LEGO Hobbit Sets & Pictures for 79015 79016 79017

I'm guessing the Elrond figure from 79015 is from the 5000202 poly that is a bit rare, goes for $15, so that's good. Pricing on these is decent. But they are just minifig packs plus an extension. I like them though, better value on these than the 79018 set. It's nice that the lake-town extension is ...

Re: LEGO The Hobbit Lonely Mountain Set 79018

I'll still pick them up anyway. And this is pretty much where most of us LoTR/Hobbit fans fall. Even bad sets, I still want the collection. It's sad that this line really doesn't hit kids very well. They are all in Star Wars, Ninjago, etc, but none of them have ever seen or allowed to see LoTR or e...

Re: LEGO The Hobbit Lonely Mountain Set 79018

One big problem with Hobbit/LOTR is price point. I'm sure most LOTR people are old enough to afford pricer sets. But TLG has all these sets designed to meet a kid's price-point when most of the fans are adults I'm guessing. Hobbit might be a bit more skewed to younger people, but still I feel like b...

Re: LEGO The Hobbit Lonely Mountain Set 79018

What's with the ugly interior fronts? They keep doing this with LOTR/Hobbit sets. Either you get an odd interior or you get a wall. 9473 is the same way. I really did like 9473 Mines of Moria though. Maybe because it was one of my favorite scenes in the first movie. I hadn't really thought about ho...

Playmobil is a much better toy to play with. LEGO is more for MOC and the building fun. Should get a quote for how much he's charge for a 3 piece polybag figure.

Re: 10242 MINI Cooper MK VII LEGO Revealed

You are clearly not understanding me. I'm glad you added me to your ignore list, as this is getting annoying. The fact he seem to forget is smaller bricks and minifigure-less sets should cost less. It has nothing to do with someone's preference. For example, if someone had a set with 15+ minifigures...

Re: 10242 MINI Cooper MK VII LEGO Revealed

Your point, mantisking, was that based on a price per piece it was a good deal. When I proved that it was a poor estimator of value, you then replied by basically saying you don't mind overpaying for sets with many tiny pieces and sets with no minifigures.

Thanks for proving my point.
