Re: Medium Size Vignette Standard

I made some changes. Legogeek was right, I added some detail to the walls, and I think it looks about 43.6% better :)
Any thoughts?

Re: Medium Size Vignette Standard

The walls needs more detail (seems too plain) but I like the hole in the wall. I agree, the walls do seem a little too plain, but you work with what you got :) And thanks. I've seen people really re-think how the shape of a lego can play into a simple scene. Something that was meant for one purpose...

Re: Medium Size Vignette Standard

So at the present, I guess theres very little or no Medium Size Vignette Standard? Your Vignette is pretty good for the first time. Good for Indiana Jones temple / tombs with those tan pieces. I don't believe there is a standard for this size vignette. And thanks for the compliments... I spend a lo...

I like the new elements. The dome is cool and the ostriches and Camels... I can see a whole nativity scene coming this christmas :)

I bet those ostrich bodies can be used for something cool too.... my thoughts are scheming :)

Re: Medium Size Vignette Standard

So along with this, I decided to give it a shot. This one is unfinished... but it will give you and idea of the scale size and the range of detail that can be put in. BTW, this is my very first vignette, so be honest upon your critiquing :) The size is 8 x 16 x 6 1/3 http://www.flickr.com/photos/445...

Medium Size Vignette Standard

I really like these little vignettes that everyone makes. Don't get me wrong, the large scale scenes are awesome. But the Standard Vignette size of 8 x 8 I think is a bit small to work in for my tastes. I admire those who can do it though. I mean you are able to convey a cool scene/story in such a s...

Looks like a lot of organic type elements. I can see a lot of these pieces being integrated in to MOCs for foliage, trees, thorns, etc...

Whew... more pieces to collect now :)

I think Falling Waters (Frank Lloyd Wright) house would be awesome to have. But I think a better model can be made. Don't get me wrong this one is awesome, but I would love to see a bigger one... :)

Re: Daily Mirror 6 Free Lego Racers

I agree... those 'Car Mudguard 4 1/2 x 1 x 1' bricks on the orange car would help me finish off my AT-ST. Heck if I got a few of them, I could make a few AT-STs :)

Of course that kind of stuff never happens in the US.... wonder why that is...

Re: Very expensive Grand Emporium

Prices are different from place to place. Depending on where you live, the availability of that item to your country, and the demand of it. But I bypass all that by not buying sets. I download the instructions, put together what I can with what pieces I have, and then buy the missing pieces from bri...

Re: Battery Life for Batteries Boxes

Well I don't have experience with the Lego Trains sets (wish I did) but that's neither here nor there. But I do have experience in batteries. Rechargeable is great as long as you let them run dry and recharge them. Which can be a pain sometimes, because you can forget how long you ran something befo...

Re: 2010 LEGO 8683 Collectible Minifigures

I think I'll just wait a year, and I know darn well I'll get a few in some of the lots I buy. People always throw in minifigs. I mean I can wait for a while. As AWESOME as they are, I'd rather wait so I don't have to pay a premium for em :)

Matching a set to a partial section

I often buy lego in bulk from yard sales / Garage Sales / Craigslist/ etc... and sometimes I wonder what sets were complete in the bulk lot. I will sometimes find partial sections of sets that were once complete. And I thought, well I could take certain special pieces that I know a ton were not made...

Welcome to the club Moolkye. Thanks Welcome to Toys N Bricks Moolkye . What lego themes are you into? Thanks! Ummm... I'm not really into themes much. I more into having everything at my disposal just in case I get into a mood. And since I have ADD, well my moods for things change quite a bit. So 1...

Well since I'm new to this contest forum and the forum itself, I can not seem to get to the General Lego Contest Rules. I get this "The requested topic does not exist."

Any help admin?

Wanted to say 'ello'

Hell all. I wanted to introduce myself. my name is Dan (Moolkye). I've been messin' around with Lego for close to 33 years now, ever since I was 7. I've had 2 major collections and now working on my third. It's taking some time but I'm dedicated to it. The other 2 times I had to deplete my collectio...
