Re: ebay - buyer of a sealed set claims piece is wrong colou

Looks like I found the problem. According to this link: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7261-1 it would appear that the transparent blue radiator grille parts (2412b) that are shown in the instructions have been replaced with medium opaque blue ones as shown in the Alternate Items list...

Re: ebay - buyer of a sealed set claims piece is wrong colou

Set is 7261 Clone Turbo Tank. I haven't yet confirmed anything with him about the part, decided to consult with the community before I contact him, since his low feedback score has me suspicious. Definitely checked the seals, they were solid, and I took pictures of them to document it. He didn't say...

ebay - buyer of a sealed set claims piece is wrong colour

hey everyone, So I finally put a set on ebay that I'm never going to get around to building. I got a bit concerned when someone with only 3 feedback bid at the last minute to win, but all I could do was ship it with tracking and insurance. Sure enough, it's delivered to day and not long after I get ...

Re: Questions about selling on Bricklink

Thanks for the replies! Yep, so many people on Bricklink add an extra PayPal fee it never even occurred to me to check that it was against the terms of service. Makes it an easy decision not to charge it. It's annoying that the PayPal fee is so prevalent on Bricklink as the prices aren't really appl...

Questions about selling on Bricklink

Hi everyone, I have a few questions about selling on Bricklink, so thought I'd post and see if this community has any words of wisdom! I have 5 or 6 full sets that I'd like to sell, ranging in price from around $80 Cdn to ~$800 Cdn (roughly $55 to $550US). I'd prefer to use Bricklink over ebay to av...

Vancouver-area ebay scammer warning

This post is partly a warning about one of the things an ebay scammer might do out there, and partly just telling the story of my recent Lego-selling misadventure. I recently decided to sell a few Lego sets, mostly to fund buying other sets that I wanted more, plus my closet is getting pretty darn f...

Re: New to LEGO Investing

The easy, no-brainer way to make some money from Lego investing is to buy modulars. Every single retired set has appreciated quite a bit. Large, spectacular sets that will never be produced again like the London Tower Bridge will also do well, plus I'm guessing the Fairground Mixer will long be popu...

Re: October 2015 LEGO Promotions: Double VIP Points + More

I called Lego customer support and they said they're aware of the problem about people being charged the wrong tax in certain provinces. They said that any order placed will have the tax corrected on the invoice. So Helicarrier ordered. :D

Black Friday was underwhelming last year. If you want the holiday train, this is as good a time as any, since it's a sure thing.

[FS] Star Wars/City 7261, 10212, 10219, 7848, 3221

Hi everyone, I know most people come to this forum looking for deals, but I have a few out-of-production sets for sale that I'd first like to offer to members of this community before trying my luck with ebay or bricklink. I just got married and wedding bills have slowed my acquisition of new sets! ...

Re: October 2015 LEGO Promotions: Double VIP Points + More

anyone place an order, specifically in Canada, and have the tax get calculated correctly? Trying to order a Helicarrier but it's charging me 13% tax when it should be charging 5%. The shipping address is AB (5%) and the billing address is BC (12%), so I have no clue why it's charging 13%. I've tried...

Re: Double VIP Points October 1-4 only

start the VIP account first, then buy stuff. You can sign up online, so no reason not to just do it now, then be signed in to it when doing any online orders. If you sign up online, then go into a store, you can just give them your email address or VIP number to get points.

Re: Double VIP Points October 1-4 only

probably because they don't need to make it the whole month to sell lots of sets. With Lego at an all time high in popularity, there are only a fraction of the deals compared to what was offered even 5 years ago. Kinda too bad, I would have liked to have got double VIP points together with the Chris...

I saw one piece get broken for sure in the video. Even though the scales are off, they should have dropped it onto the Lego Death Star 2. :D

Re: Opened/Displayed loses how much value?

varies too much by set to give a solid answer. Based on my limited experience of watching values, sets that are still relatively common take a bigger hit when opened compared to ones that are almost impossible to find.
