Re: LEGO Hockey Arena

The only problem I see is that you are a Sabres fan Ouch! We stick with the hometown team even when they finish last, because next season HAS to be better! (And fortunately we spend our money on LEGOs instead of season tickets! ;-) ) I'm a Flyers fan ... as you said "Stick with the hometown&qu...

Thanks very much! The LEGOland sticker came from the soccer arena set LEGO released a long time ago. I used a bunch of the advertising stickers from that set on my boards.

Re: LEGO Hockey Arena

Nice job. Looks like a lot of work went into that. I think my favorite part is how the seats are arranged in a curve around the corners of the ice. How are those OYO minifigs? The seats were tricky. My first thought was to use a 2x2 turntable, but that made the seats too wiggly. Instead I put a 1x1...

The fence is cool! (I mean, the whole thing is, but the fence is a neat use of parts!)

Re: July/August 2014 Issue of The Brick Collectors Magazine

We do different things for different challenges. It isn't totally random - if I choose a wheel to be one of the parts, I'm going to throw in some sort of connector or axle to use with it. On the other hand, I really try NOT to think about what I might build with the parts as I'm selecting them. I li...

Re: July/August 2014 Issue of The Brick Collectors Magazine

Not so far, but I'm going to look into it. I've just started reading some magazines online and I actually do like it. I'm still kind of a traditionalist about reading though...I like my books.

Thanks for the kind words! I wish we could go about getting our magazine in stores, but we're a pretty small labor of love at this point. Maybe someday! I'm glad you found us.

Re: LEGO Hockey Arena

Yes…there are many more pics in the Gallery tab here . I also did a post just about the Zamboni a few days ago which you can see here . Unfortunately we only bothered to get 1 hockey minifig from season 4 when they were released. They're a bit pricey to try and collect now. I wish LEGO would release...

Re: Tips on making Lego videos

Any thoughts/tips on the used frame speed? My husband just wrote an article (for a magazine I publish) & made a video tutorial about frame rates in LEGO stop motion animation. I'm no expert (he is!), but I think you could up your frame rate just a bit to get a more fluid look. It is really time...

LEGO Hockey Arena

I made a LEGO Hockey Arena. Everything is LEGO except for the hockey players, which are my son's OYO minifigs. The arena holds 192 spectators. It was really tedious to make & seat them all! There are working doors for the Zamboni and for the penalty boxes & player's benches. I designed shirt...
