Re: City Arctic Sets

Good pictures. And probably the best sub theme of the year so far... http://www.flickr.com/photos/61839591@N08/12212247965/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Good looking sets. I didn't get the last arctic subtheme way back when, but I did get the Ice Planet sets (and I kind ...

Re: June 2014 Lego sets: All Themes

I hope this isn't the entire summer wave. While I don't love the current Castle theme, the last 2 themes seemed to improve once they make it past the first year so I had hopes this one would make it to a second year. I also don't see any new Galaxy Squad sets or a new Space theme to take it's place....

Re: TRU Hobbit Barrel Escape $25.50

My thanks as well. I have also been waiting on this one to drop in price. I went ahead and bought 2 for the free shipping (it's 90 miles to the nearest TRU and I am not going there in the next few days). After I sell the extra dwarves I will get the 2 for around the retail of 1.

Re: LEGO Stores & LEGO Shop Black Friday 2013 Sales

To this day, most people know what the New Coke disaster was and Coke never really fully recovered from it, it gave Pepsi an opening that they took and held onto since. What are you talking about? Coke won the Cola Wars almost 2 decades ago . Pepsi, the company, has had a higher value due to it's d...

Re: Lego Series 12 list & pic

I like this set of figures. I really don't see any I don't want. Lincoln, Shakespeare (good for Castle MOCs, and I like the bald piece), Panda, and Wild West Wildstyle (another dress piece for variety is always good) are probably my favorites. Another Mermaid is nice. The cop is a nice stand in for ...

Both, I'm pretty sure, but I think you may need a coupon for in- store. Go to the website and sign up for their mailing list to get a copy, I think. Okay. I usually get their ads in a local paper but I never really check them. I'm at work now but once I get back home I will check the print ad and t...

Re: Kmart Additional 50% off clearance toys 10/20 - 10/26

Does anyone else find themselves driving all around town for these kind of deals? It's fun for a while, but when you strike out, it gets frustrating. Especially when the store is clear across town. Ya I gave up a long time ago. I would constantly hear of 50%+ clearance deals at Target, Wal-Mart, K-...

Well actually in USA it is very legal based on past court cases, for a manufacturer to require minimum prices. That is not considered price fixing.
Look at video game systems for a real good example.

Re: No Discounts Policy on LEGO Exclusives & Hard to Find It

Even though I never got one of those 10% off coupons on any of my catalogs and I think I only got two of these types of sets (MMV and the Joust set) on any kind of real discount, I think the policy is not a good idea. I don't really understand what the point of it is beyond maximizing profits (which...

^ Nothing wrong with your deal, but it really isn't much of one, for all those hoops. Summer Riding Camp is $99 in the LEGO store or online, and you get the VW Camper Van. Chima Chi Temple is $90 or so at Target right now. So a "deal"? Meh, too many hoops to jump through to buy for the pr...

Re: Lego Beats Hasbro as World’s No. 2

LEGO could be doing better if they stuck with their Ninjago line longer. Chima does not seem to have the same appeal. I'm pretty sure Ninjago will be back next year, and I also believe that was decided before they realized Chima doesn't have the same level of appeal (or at least everything I have s...

I don't remember ever seeing a coupon for purchases in a LEGO catalog exception for the LEGO park coupons that I've seen in the past. Here is what the back of my Fall 2013 LEGO catalog looks like that just arrived days ago. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Qt2U_AYLo68/UikHr9G_JvI/AAAAAAAAAl8/Ru-PilF5xvw/s...

Re: Old Republic

I completely disagree. If anything, I want more Old Republic sets. Or to be more specific, Knights of the Old Republic sets featuring the main characters (Revan, Malak, etc from 1, and Nihilus, Treya, etc from 2). We need an Ebon Hawk set. Maybe some sets of even older events with characters like Ex...

Re: Lone Ranger set deals on Amazon.com

I thought the movie was pretty good, better than average. Being a fan of the old show & short run cartoon, I thought it kept enough of the original story that it appealed to me. Sure there was summer blockbuster stuff in it like POTC but my kids gave it a thumbs up too. Although the theater was...

Re: Collectible Minifigure brainstorming session

I like the shout outs to the older Space series and the newer Space figures (like the Alien Marines), as well as the Castle type figures so that influences what I want to see. Space Police Riot/Heavy Trooper- This would use the heavy armor of the Space Marine and a riot shield type piece and use the...

Is that the older Blacktron symbol on the Evil Mech? We already have the one Blacktron cyborg from several series ago, and we have space guys with the classic logo. I wouldn't mind seeing MTron or Ice Planet getting a shout out in the future.

Re: BrickLink sold

the suggestion below does not work for sets sold on bricklink - no way you can predetermine shipping costs due to size. also some post offices determine rates based on volume not weight (like canadapost) so you have to know ahead of time your package and box sizes, which is not possible or reasonab...

Sublime. In the classic sense: equal parts terror and excitement. It will be an interesting next few months. If the end result is an easier out the door purchase, I'm all for it. I want to be able to search for the bricks I want, in the quantities I want, and find the vendor or combination of vendo...

Re: Kmart - LOTR Discounts

How much longer does the first wave of LOTR have? Can't let Helm's Deep go and I have yet to pick it up. According to emazers in the investment section, Helm's Deep will stop being produced in June (next month). So, I wouldn't put it off a whole lot longer (though I suppose it could see clearance a...
