Re: [US/CAN] August 2012 LEGO Store Calendar

I think you want your quotes around "model", not "surfer". He's definitely a surfer fig, but he's not really a "model".

Re: LEGO LOTR The Hobbit Bag End Set

Wow - why in the world doesn't Lego put out more sets of this quality? Looks like TLG is finally taking some cues from the quality of MOCs!

Re: [CUUSOO] Firefly Serenity playset

"we have decided that as cool as the Serenity model is, the Firefly TV show and Serenity film contain content that is not appropriate for our core target audience of children ages 6-11. " Makes you wonder if there's a double standard - Firefly wasn't any rougher than Indy Jones Temple of ...

Re: [CUUSOO] Firefly Serenity playset

I think the Zelda theme could fly. 1. Lego sets and the bulk of the Lego fanbase have, for better or worse, become predominantly centered around minifigures. Thus, a theme that achieves its continuity through figures rather than places would fit right in the current Lego marketing scheme. Enter Zeld...

Just like Star Wars and Marvel and Disney and Minecraft - all licensed themes, and not a chance they'll ever become Lego.

Re: New York Toy Fair 2012 - LEGO Prices & More Pics from FB

Fury Interceptor has what, 40 more pieces than Jabba's Palace, yet Jabba's Palace is $30 more. And crazy thing is, the Fury Inteceptor is still about $15 more than I'd want to pay.

Re: Investing in Lego

Something to keep in mind... as time goes on, more and more people are figuring out Lego investing. More and more people are selling old Lego, meaning that supply is increasing and demand decreasing. This equals lower resale prices, and lower profits. Also, more and more people are stocking up in bu...

Re: Stickers - Love 'em, Hate 'em, or don't care

Nearly without exception, you can always tell a part's a sticker, and it makes a set look cheap. Best example? the emblems on the A-Wing from the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser set. Also, when you have the sets for any length of time, the stickers tend to get damaged (edges get pushed in or torn) or they...

I've checked a couple times, yesterday and today - the Speeder is definitely there, but haven't been able to find the Magnaguard fighter at all.

Re: New box sizes?

I'm all for the reduction in size, and heck, if it also means that prices go down a little bit to keep people buying, that's fine with me. one major problem I have now is how to sneak the huge boxes back home... it just doesnt look good if you try to sneak 5 boxes of clone turbo tanks pass your wife...
