Re: 2016 Post-Christmas Sale at LEGO Shop at Home (Boxing Da

Since being out of the dark ages (7 or 8 years now), this has to be the worst boxing day sale I've seen at Lego Shop at Home (and there have been a couple of real stinkers already).

Those are Canadian prices. US prices will be closer to the 10 cent mark.

Re: Lego Shortage at Canadian Independant Toy Retailers?

Not upset at him or her, more at what some small businesses are doing to survive, they complain people ripping them off but some of them are doing exactly the same thing. I usually say how it is a terrible deal, unless it's at 50% off, please pay more attention before quoting. I do pay attention. E...

Re: Lego Shortage at Canadian Independant Toy Retailers?

mshiels: Just ignore this guy. Based on his previous posts, every sale post that goes up gets a comment from him about how it's a terrible deal, unless it's at 80% off. Most people can understand and empathize with how difficult it is to be an independent small business. I'm not sure why he's so ups...

Re: Lego Store Online Sales

There's no secret, but there are 2 major sales events that I look forward to. May 4th for Star Wars and December 26th for the end of year sale. Items do go on sale periodically throughout the year, so I would suggest keeping an eye out or at the very least watching this site for announcements. As fo...

Wow, this thread got derailed quickly. Can we get back to Target Deals instead of investing opinions and rants about not getting 75% off?

Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal

If anybody has a box of 30 (the box itself), would you posting the image of the box? I've never seen a box of 30 before. Here's a couple images of series 9. The first picture is of the 60 count box and the second picture is of the 30 count box. On bricklink, the 30 count boxes go for as cheap as $6...

Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal

Not that fond of this set to begin with and the distribution is horrible. This is the box I ended up with. 6x Roman Soldiers .... 2x Librarian Yes, this is the new distribution pattern starting with Series 9. EVIL I know. People used to be able to get 3 complete set per box now it's only 2 set beca...

Re: Series 10 Now Starting to Appear at Target, ToysRUs, Wal

I don't agree. I bought 120 case pack at Target and we only ended up with 3 complete sets. We have 10 each extra of the baseballer and skydiver. Not the same count as anyone else. This was a freshly opened case from the back stockroom. And of course no Mr. Gold. Now to unload all the extras. I woul...

I purchased mine on the 8th and it's not scheduled to arrive until the 17th. We'll see when it actually shows up... Mine hasn't show up, did yours? It had the same order date and delivery estimate. Also for some reason I can't track the package on DHL's website with the tracking number that was pro...

Re: 9450 Epic Dragon Battle $76 shipped to US from Amazon UK

I was shocked that a UPS guy just knocked my door and delivered me the package. It was super fast. Besides, there was no brokerage charge and tax. Both of the lego boxes were in excellent condition. I am going to keep one for my boy and one to sell. Paid only GBP 88.61 for two  . Thx for ninj...

Re: Lego Shop@home Ripping off Canadians

Lucient, I don't think the prices in Canada for Lego are a reflection of tariffs. Lego simply pads the price to maximize profit. As for avoiding taxes, the customs procedure in Canada ensures that both the federal and provincial governments receive taxes on imported good. You cannot avoid it. As a c...

Re: Lego Shop@home Ripping off Canadians

As an Economist and student of Business, I really appreciate someone else understanding the issues behind the differences in prices between countries. Lego gives these reasons because they are true. Comparing price ratios today vs price ratios 20 years ago makes no sense. MANY changes have occurred...

Re: 9450 Epic Dragon Battle $76 shipped to US from Amazon UK

In Canada, most of the couriers will charge tax and a brokerage fee where they can. Canada Post will also do this, but only for expensive imports. I've had items pass through Canada Post at around the $100 mark with no fees... any more than $100 and I find that Canada Post may charge you. Canada Pos...

Re: 9450 Epic Dragon Battle $76 shipped to US from Amazon UK

Max Power and tensor... were they shipped via UPS?

I ordered a Fire Temple, box of 60 minifigures, and other items and was never charged anything extra when delivered via Royal Post (UK) or DHL (France) to Canada. But whenever UPS delivers the item, I get charged taxes (in Canada).
