FS: Lots of fantasy minifigs (elves, dwarves, vikings)

Hello
I bought a bunch of fantasy themed minifigs from the earlier series assortments. I have somehwere between 10-15 of the series 5 elves, about the same Vikings, and at least this many dwarves. If looking to pick up a bunch of these in a lot please send me an email at atst1138_at_yahoo_dotcom

Re: LEGO The Hobbit Goblin King Battle 79010 $44.99 @ Target

It doesn't help that this scene from the movie was ridiculous and the goblin king a huge travesty of stupidity.

Re: Invest with caution

I gave up on buying sets for investment last year. I made decent money but it was clear to me the sets were being held way too long and things were selling out, then not, then selling out, then not. I don't think they will retire 10188 for a long time and for those sitting on dozen of these in the g...

Re: 2014 January LEGO Hobbit Sets

I agree, these are three sets of "some random wall" scene plus some scene appropriate figures. This is really quite lazy and boring.

Re: LEGO 2013 German Toy Fair at Nuremberg

That looks straight up 2002 yo My first thought as well, feels like a step back. And no one has commented on that red thing in the corner?? Looks like a bullette (I think, don't have my Monster Manual anymore) on wheels with a catapult attached to it. Very odd. After what I thought was a very class...

Re: FS: Green Grocer 10185 550 shipped sealed

I think it was the automated aspect of it. I like to know who I am selling to. I need to look more into it because eBay is killing me with fees. Oddly, this set is selling above 600 again which it was NOT doing before XMAS. In fact I think it dove down into the high 400s on eBay according to their t...

Yeah I have good boxes for them now. I wasnt violating their policy I dont think since I was still paying for priority mail. Brickset creeped me out. I used it once and got some strange message that made me feel uncomfortable, it seemed like an auto generated message of sorts.

Funny you mention that. I often have the same problem. If I dont build a set and it goes EOL I cant bring myself to open the box.

I am excited about these. I have to admit my interest waned with series 8. Prior to that I was one of the feeler fiends in the to aisle but I didn't buy a single Series 8 MF.

Any thoughts on why Mill Village Raid hasn't taken off?

I see it on Amazon for around 100 which means eBay prices are likely near retail. i think this is a nice set and would have thought it was an instant classic. Curious why no major pop?

Re: Investing in Lego

Ugh, I didnt know enough to know whether the MFs in 7959 were exclusive to that set or not. I picked it up several times, looked at the dumb looking ship (sorry) the bug, the random clone guy and the worst Jedi (in my book) and thought better. Oh well.

Re: Investing in Lego

Oh yes and Home One, people hate that thing for some reason, the prototype to Palpatine's Arrest design-wise One other issue is the re-issue for licensed themes. You picked the new MF which seems solid but this is their 3rd (?) not including the UCS and they get better each time. I saw some late 90s...

Re: Investing in Lego

Can't disagree with your pics emazers. One thing I don't like about the new superheros sets is that the buildings all look so skeletal. My daughter noticed this today on the new Echo Base which I think looks awful, its like a mess of outer walls and random gear and stations. The superheroes sets fee...

I suppose I should add Speed Racer, but don't know what the aftermarket is like for these. I suspected PoP was a dud.

Lego Duds

we talk a lot about future home runs, what about past duds. Any long time investors have any good examples? I sometimes get the sense all Lego is gold if you wait long enough.

Re: Investing in Lego

Thought I'd add my experience. I started investing several years back when I was just getting into Lego and stumbled onto a lot of discontinued HP Castles (5378) at a local TRU. No clue why they had them but I knew enough to know they were discontinued elsewhere, were marked down, and they had a Buy...
