If you missed our post earlier regarding the changes to the free MMBs, note that the free mini model builds are no longer like before where you can just show up at a LEGO Brand Store and get to participate in the build. You will now need to register in advance. Registration has started for the July 2015 Mini Model Build. So far, atmail35 is reporting that the sign up process is relatively straightforward and easy. She reports that you choose a time slot between 3-7pm (20 minute intervals) and then you list your kids’ names and birthdates. You are allowed to register up to 4 kids and will be required to stay and build.
Next month’s mini model build will be a LEGO Whale. For the first time ever, LEGO Brand Stores will be having the monthly mini model build for two days. Definitely really good on LEGO’s part as I’m sure they’re trying their best to make sure everyone gets a chance with this new registration process.

Please note that you are registering for a building event. Guests must participate in the event to receive the free set. Guests will not be permitted to collect the set and immediately leave and may not pick the set up at a later date or time.
Quantities are limited to approximately 120 per store per night and time reservations are on a first come first serve basis. Models are not for sale and cannot be purchased. One registration with a maximum of 4 children per household. One free set per child. Due to safety restrictions, this event is open to children ages 6-14 only.
