LEGO Legends of Chima 2013
LEGO Legends of Chima 2013
Here is some info from Eurobricks and Bricklinks:
"On a side note, just found two book titles here that are almost certainly Legends of Chima:

978-0-545-51649-5 New LEGO® Theme: Chapter Book #1 $5.99

Re: LEGO Legends of Chima 2013
TheBrickBlogger.com has made a new post regarding the theme of this series. The website points out a Eurobricks post, but since it's a little grammatically incorrect, BrickBlogger translates it a bit more:
"We were fortunate enough to be able take a look at the new LEGO Legends of Chima theme. Unfortunately at this point we cannot provide pictures, however to keep you from waiting, we are unveiling the story behind the legends.
The Chima Kingdom is a magical land, ruled by very advanced animal species. These creatures walk and talk like humans. They drive vehicles, use machinery, and live in amazing castles and fortresses. But don’t be mistaken; these animals still have claws, teeth, tails and some even wings. And right now they are at war with each other.
The Chima Kingdom that was once a pure and natural paradise, transformed into a barbaric battlefield of animal species armed to the teeth. Best friends turned into sworn enemies. Ruthless weapons are destroying the once sacred temples. In the forests blood-thirsty vehicles are furiously charging at each other in deadly duels.
The creatures are fiercely fighting over the possession of the super-powerful natural energy-source called Chi – which is the source of life, as well as the source of unimaginable destruction.
Only a few brave heroes understand the true nature of Chi, and that its misuse will lead to the total destruction of Chima. Their story, and the story of those who want to destroy them is known as The Legends of Chima…
LEGO Legends of Chima will be introduced next January with an initial 14 LEGO sets, along with a 22-minute independent TV-series. Are you ready?”
The question is, are YOU ready? What's your opinion of it? I think it's certainly different from Ninjago's storyline. To find out more about the original origin of this text and to read TheBrickBlogger.com's exciting post, visit http://thebrickblogger.com/2012/09/lego ... ima-story/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Talk like Arnold Schwartzenegger: "Whats a Chima?"
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

Amazing castles and fortresses? I hope so!

Good grief. Makes their claim to have avoided some CUUSOO sets because of violence seem a little unfounded now. We all knew there was plenty of violence implied in many other themes, but I hesitate to even open this page up and have my son read it. Blood-thirsty, deadly duels, unimaginable destruction, oh my!
Castles and fortresses sound sweet though.

Soooooo.....Thundercats?
Re: LEGO Legends of Chima 2013
Sounds like Legends of China - i.e. using imagery from Chinese mythology. Ninjago isn't historically accurate anymore than Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Power rangers are, but clearly that's the major influence on this series. Definitely a departure from the visual style of the rest of next year's sets.
Re: LEGO Legends of Chima 2013
If you go to Ebay.com and search " lego chima " a whole slew of new authentic figures comes up. I believe that some of these have not yet been seen in such detail. I especially enjoyed viewing the WAKZ WINZAR wolf figures from the upcoming 70004 set. Their amazingly detailed faces are wonderfully printed.

Re: LEGO Legends of Chima 2013
Unlike the Ninjago Spinners Packs that were first released in Dec 2010, these are going to start to fly off the shelf after the Cartoon Airs on Cartoon Network on Jan 16th. First Wave of "Rippers" or what ever you call them will be gone by Easter IMO. Shelf life will be similar to current Ninjago Spinners which are basically gone now. The detail in these are amazing.
