sticker preventing resale?
I was at Fred Meyer today and there was a sticker on all of the sets saying "thank you for purchasing at Fred Meyer, if you find this for sale elsewhere call and then a 1800 number." Has anyone else encountered this before? (I will post a photo later)

Walmart, Walgreens and other stores have used them on medications and stuff for years. They are to prevent people from reselling them in their own stores or in places like a flea market.

I have seen them at Fred Meyer also, but they seem to be a traditional paper sticker that just peels off.

I use a hair dryer takes all those freddies tags off.

Would a sticker like that really prevent people from reselling at a flea market? Why would Fred Meyers even care what happens after a Lego set is sold?

Its actually to keep thieves from stealing them and reselling them at flea markets. Next time you go to a flea market and see a seller with a ton of razor blades, electric toothbrush heads and sensodyne toothpaste they are all stolen from retailers and resold at flea markets. Lego has become a huge stolen item at the retail level over the past year hence the stickers
