I got 2 TB and 1 TH from the TRU B2G1. I know you forum members will be appalled I didn't max my discount, but I feel I did pretty well.

I made 4 phone calls, calls 1 and 3 went nowhere, call two got me past the first rep to the customer service rep, but they wouldn't budge. On the last call I just kept repeating to the first rep that these sets are not listed as excluded, they should be on sale. So they passed me to the customer service rep who just put my order through without question and actually gave me an extra dollar off.

So people complain about TRU a lot, but to me they've been great. Since coming out of my dark ages, I've made three transactions with them. Each time they messed up the wording on there ads, so I call in and honor the price. It's kind of a pain, but it works...

After 3 phone calls over the past couple days I finally had success. I got Pet Shop, Grand Emporium, and Diagon Alley. I was transferred to a guy who was able to create a promo code for $149.99 off and I got "free" shipping for $.54.

Each of the 4 employees talked to couldn't understand why the promo wasn't working for these sets because the wording doesn't exclude them and understood where I was coming from. When your own employees can't understand your system you should realize you have a problem.

If they do update their site to include everything it should then I might order the Winter Village sets. I don't want to deal with calling again since I can wait for those, especially with Black Friday coming up.

I had to talk to a rep last night to fix my Winter sets for the B2G1F, and she was actually really sweet and nice!! She never passed me to a supervisor, but she kept checking back and forth.

It's VERY hit and miss, but if you want it that bad, be persistent with calls, and they'll help. Granted that might be too much for people, and I can understand that.

I've made two calls so far. Call one ended with the rep taking my info to have a supervisor call me back, then she hung up on me. Call two I was transferred to "corporate" and they wouldn't budge and kept telling me that the free shipping was the only promo's that the Death Star and Super Star Destroyer qualify for.

I guess I'll have to make a few more calls.

edit** I received a call back from a supervisor. She saw the issue, but the best she could do was to give me free shipping on my total order, or allow me to buy two death stars at full price, then a free $50.00 item.

edit number 2** I called twice more. The first call resulted in me being hung up on after being on hold for 10 minutes. The second call ended with the rep telling me that because it doesnt say Buy 2, get 1 free it isnt included, then she took my info for a sup to call me back.

Well, just went to my local TRU so I could pick out mint boxes (since the last time TRU shipped they were mashed) for the B2G1 sale. Got 3 mid-size sets across 3 different themes and happy with my purchase. Even with the TRU 6-20% mark-up, my overall pricing was lower than current pre-tax amazon prices. :)

I'm calling BS on all of the success stories on here about calls placed to TRU CS. I've made no less than 8 calls today and the best I've gotten is that the DS & SSD are not included, but we'll give you 15% off the entire order.

They might have been more lenient earlier on, but have since had a memo going around saying "stop ringing up orders with 3 $150+ items".

Customer service tells me Lego picks what sets that get the promo on them and that the three modulars are not part of the promo. False Advertising in my book.

Well, I just got my first set of orders delivered today and so far it's been a horror story.

I ordered about 20 items that were delivered today, and 70% of the items arrived with box damage, 3 or 4 sets look like someone of considerable weight sat on them. Packing job was horrible and pathetic.

To top it off, I ordered 6 Hogwarts Castles and instead got 2 City Garages and 4 Jabbas Palaces in their place. Of course they are OOS online now, so I called TRU...their rep said I could return them instore but only for instore credit, and couldn't exchange these for the correct item. I bought them at the cheaper price (129) so I'd have to end up paying more (149) to get the correct items...that's BS. Don't understand why I have to pay for their mistake.

At risk of sounding like a TRU apologist, I thought I should mention that I received my first 3 sets today (Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape). The sets were packaged well and the sets and box arrived unscathed. I'm really sorry others have not been so fortunate.

I placed a big order at about 6:30am Sunday morning after staying up until after 3 waiting for the promotion to take effect. So I expect to be receiving shipments for the rest of the week. I'll provide updates of the good, the bad and the ugly. Stay tuned.

After many calls (one in which the agent said that the print ad didn't even list a B2G1 sale ), I was able to get 2 DS for 40% off each. Only one of them has actually shipped, but hopefully the second will ship soon.

So call customer service and tell them you were talking with corporate and you were disconnected. Wait 15 minutes. Tell corp. that the bogo is not work. Wait 30 minutes. They split order in two with $100 off the first two item and $50 off the second order. $325.06 shipped for the Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, and Petshop.

Do you have the shipping or order recepit of what your ordered? This is their fault and no matter what you paid $1 or $1000 you did not get what your ordered. Unless they are OOS forever they legally need to fix this problem.
