Guessing all the high end stuff will have a limit of 1, and most will be out of stock quickly. Wish my local stores stocked some of these. Would be easier to try to get them.
Re: [USA] TRU B2G1 Free Sep 18-24
Aw man, no Star Wars.
Re: [USA] TRU B2G1 Free Sep 18-24
Great, I just spent $260 on mini-figures at 25% off today and tomorrow their going to be 33% off. That's like $30 more in savings. Good thing I keep all my receipts.

Also, free Ninjago card shrine when you buy selected sets...

Also, now I'm trying to figure out what I should get for free, if I order a unimog and a motorized excavator.

I'm going for the Excavator, Cargo train & Red train. Not the best saving maximization but still works out to about 30%.evo8hks wrote:Also, now I'm trying to figure out what I should get for free, if I order a unimog and a motorized excavator.

a lot of the high end stuff like the modular buildings is still sold out from the previous sale so being sold out wont catch people by surprisePTSandman wrote:Guessing all the high end stuff will have a limit of 1, and most will be out of stock quickly. Agreed - all the really desirable sets are gone already. I may use this sale to get some decent prices on some newer sets that I'm not DYING for, but would like eventually. Thinking:
Mill Village Raid $70
Prison Tower Rescue $50
The smaller Hogwarts Set $50.
So in the end, about $42 each after tax. Hmph. Maybe I will just save my money for the impending 3-4 months of sales leading up to the holidays, and then the clearance sales beyond!

This was tough. I would have gotten two of the Hilliside houses but there was a limit of one. I ended up getting the HP Burrow.

Thanks for the heads up. I got three 5 dollar sets to tide me over til bricktober. At the sale price they are nearly as cheap as a collectible minifigure and you get some pieces to boot!

Does Bricktober usually have better deals?sadowsk1 wrote:Thanks for the heads up. I got three 5 dollar sets to tide me over til bricktober. At the sale price they are nearly as cheap as a collectible minifigure and you get some pieces to boot!

If you are looking for non Star Wars this is about as good as a sale as it gets. Bricktober has a different sale each week with a minifig giveaway. Normally a BOGO 50% non SW, then various other sales each other week. But 33% off is about as good as it gets outside of clearance or coupon/sale stacking on rare occasions.

Not really. B2g1 free is usually the best deal your gonna see a tru. The big deal about bricktober other than a sale every week is they release a 'throwback' minifig magnet each week... 4 total in addition to the great sales. The other issue is that most of the high value targets are sold out.... And the 1 per person limit on sets over 100 bucks..
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Lol, yeah, I meant it in a way that I'm saving money to make the required purchases to get the weekly promotional figures and any other bonuses like the halloween trick or treat bags that were given away last year. Who knows though, if it gets to pricey buying on the secondary market to get the promo figures might be the way to go.

Local TRU just failed me. They didn't have any S5 in stock so I had to go to target to buy some...

I'm with Popnfresh. Having this sale right on the heels of the last one rubs me the wrong way. Use one sale to clear out the best inventory and then a better sale where you can't buy what you want to. Not impressed (as usual with TRU).
Re: [USA] TRU B2G1 Free Sep 18-24
So, in my haste I didn't really make the most of this deal - got Skeleton Bowling (which is marked up $5 at TRU) in order to get the free Ninjago Card Shrine (which is marked up $3 at TRU) and then got Ice Dragon and the Kingdoms Dragon Prison Escape for my daughter. That said, I paid with a surprise $50 amex gift card as a thank you from work, so really I only paid $8 including tax for all of that ;)

Completely agree. Tru preys on the ignorant in my opinion. They hope people 'settle' for the first sale and hope they don't realize to return and repurchase during the better sale. Further proof is the fact they limited the online purchases during sales to further force people to have to match up unequal price points in order to prevent maximizing the discounts.Sinfanti wrote:I'm with Popnfresh.
