My plan to get something today was foiled by the arrival of ~1100 bricks (Home One Minus Minifigs and A-Wing and Endor Bunker) purchased of Bricklink. Once my wife sees that pile no hope for anything new for a while.

Definately nothing new since she was on paypal today and saw the charge for the bricklink stuff.

I believe the new coupon says excludes toys and games at the bottom of it

I don't see the exclusion on the version posted by GuaranteedUnity:
Valid with Borders Rewards membership only. Offer cannot be combined with any other offer, promotion, sale pricing, coupon, or discount, including group discounts, except Borders Bucks, Borders Rewards Plus 10% off purchase-price and Personal Shopping Day 10% off purchase-price discounts (10% off purchase-price discounts are taken after all other discounts are applied, including this offer and Borders Bucks, if any; Personal Shopping Day discount is valid in-store only). Offer Excludes: Borders Rewards Plus memberships, previous purchases, special orders, shipping, gift cards, coupon books, newspapers, magazines, comics, used merchandise, textbook rentals, audiobook downloads, music downloads, vinyl LPs, Rosetta Stone® software, tax software, video games, all electronics (including eReaders), eReader Protection Plan Packs, and certain eBooks (see the Details section on the applicable eBook product page on Borders.com to determine if excluded), as well as posters, arts & crafts, and scrapbooking items purchased online. Single-use only: One coupon or promo code per customer during the valid period. Original coupon must be relinquished at time of purchase. Void if copied, transferred, and where prohibited by law. Any other use constitutes fraud. Cash value .01¢. Not redeemable for cash. Valid 3/4/11–3/7/11 at U.S. Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks stores and at Borders.com until 11:59 PM PT on the last day of the valid period only. NOT VALID AT STORE CLOSING SALES.
I used it today (via my phone) and the sales associate pulled out a printed one he had by the register, that one did say "excludes toys and games". There might be two floating around. I showed him that mine did not say that. He then keyed in the number #159049540000000000 and it went through.

So I picked up the HP Hogwarts for $80.99 plus tax. And I totally shouldn't have bought this set but felt I'd regret it if I didn't get it at this price. ;)

If you had stocked up on some Borders gift cards through Plastic Jungle (whom I mentioned earlier), you could have scored an additional 15% after tax.

Assuming 6% sales tax, that drops the price of Hogwarts to $73 after tax with the 40% coupon and additional 10% Plus discount, and scores you $81 towards your next $5 in Borders Bucks.

Forgive my ignorance but what is a borders "personal shopping day?" I have the rewards plus card but have never heard of this.

Per the Border's Website http://www.borders.com/online/store/Cus ... ambenefits:
A Personal Shopping Day Achieve $150 in annual qualifying purchases and earn a
Personal Shopping Day where you save 10% on most everything.
Usually you get an e-mail saying it is available and it is for Plus and regular rewards members.

If I understand the "annual" part correctly it means you can earn ONE personal shopping day a year. Hardly worth mentioning in every coupon post, IMO. I've spent hundreds of dollars there in the last year, only received one personal shopping day that I know of.

I dont have Rewards Plus but, I miss knowing, effectively, what percent off it would be with Rewards Plus AND a Personal Shopping Day.

I wonder if their plan is to drive both themselves and Barnes and Noble out of business with these coupons.

Even at 33% off, Borders still makes money. Majority of the people I have seen at the stores don't use any coupons when making a purchase.
