On to the review. First up, we have the front of the box. We can see the Dragon Knight and his catapult assaulting the Dragon Army outpost. The catapult works, not amazing, but it works.
The back of the box shows some of the play features. If you can manage to hit it, a section of the wall pops out to simulate damage.
The contents of the box. Instructions, bags numbered 1 and 2, and the dreaded sticker sheet. Fortunately, there are only 2 stickers, and they both go on the walls of the tower.
The cover of the instruction book.
A random page from the instruction book. Each step shows the pieces needed to complete each step, which is very helpful.
The contents of bag number 1. This bag builds the catapult and the minifigures.
The three minifigures. Once Dragon Knight on the left, and 2 Lion Knights. The helmets make the faces a bit hard to see, but honestly, they are nothing special. I like how the Dragon army incorporates chains into their armour. Very nice,
The back of the figures. The torsos have printing on the back.
Now, the catapult. Here we see it being assembled. There is a Dragon shield on each side.
The catapult itself added on.
The completed catapult, with extra parts. I do like the embellishment on the wheels, and the overall colour scheme. It looks good at least.
The contents of bag #2. This bag contains the parts needed to built the tower. Other than the two pieces used to make the angled portion of the tower, and the embellishments, nothing out of the ordinary here.
The first level of the tower completed.
The beginning of the next level.
The second level complete. The opening in the center will come into play later.
The third level added. In all honesty, its a very flimsy tower. It looks ok, but not much structurally.
The completed tower. The opening is now filled in. Hit that section with the catapult, and it pops right out as it not attached, just sitting in place. There are axes on each side of the door, and a crossbow on the top.
The complete set. It fits in nicely with the other Kingdoms sets.
Final thoughts. I would recommend this set, but it is a bit on the pricey side (at least in Canada). The build is quick, and easy. The minifigures are very nice, and great additions to your armies. The catapult is ok, and at the very least useful for parts. The tower is adequate for its purpose. If you are a fan of the lego castles, it will fit in nicely with your other sets.
