Battle of New York - The Avengers(2012)
I have promised myself not to have a last-minute entry, but this contest just came in when I am about to have my final exam, so I only started working on the entry last week. I chose the scene "Battle of New York" for several reasons. 1. I haven't bought my Age of Ultron sets. 2. I really want to build something to impress everyone, and I guess the final battle is the most impressive scene from the first movie. With no more introduction, let's go into the model itself - Stark Tower!
"That big ugly...building in New York?"
Yap... I mean NO! It's such a beauty! The fact that this building has been built by tons of awesome creators around the world since 2012 has proved it. Before I started building my own tower, I browse through the web to see what have the others built, and basically they all have their own unique awesomeness, but personally, i am just a bit stubborn on the world "STARK", I kinda felt like no one realy pay them the attention they deserved, so there's where I started. I am really happy with the font. A closer look at it here:

And here are some pics of the tower overall look at different angles:

In order to include the whole team in the scene, I added a little road section down there to have the scene where Cap and Thor are fighting against the Chitauri Footsoldiers, and I put Hawkeye down there as well, as I could not figure out another spot for him. Here are a few closer shots:

In the middle of the building, I put a couple of Chitauri Chariots there, flying all the way to blow something up. As I want to avoid the whole "exact replica of a Super Heroes set" thing in the rules, I built my own my detailed Chariots, and i totally enjoyed them. Due to tthe limits on the number of picture in the post, here are the links to those pics:

Finally, it's the rooftop section, where most of the actions happened. Here, we have Loki about to get smashed by Hulk (Originally I planned on the "Puny God" scene, but turned out the tower floor is too small for that XDXD) , while Black Widow is about to close the portal with the help of Dr Erik Selvig (not really helping), and Tony is about to sacrifice himself, lifting the nuclear all the way up. The portal device is a cool little build that I really like myself, and the two biggest challenges for this part are the window and the big circle outer platform with the "S" on it, took me a few days to work it out. Here it is:

Last but not least, to be fair to all other entries, I think some of you may be wondering how come this beast is not exceeding 32x32 studs? It took me a while to figure out that I can actually take the diagonal of the baseplate to maximize the length, and here is a picture I took before assembling all the sections to show you how the large outer platforms actually fits in:

Finally, I have to thank Toys N Bricks again for holding such awesome contest, like LetterCsquared said, I couldn't help checking for new entry everyday as I'm a huge fan of the Avengers movie! Good luck for all other builders entering this contest and hope you enjoy my entry as much as I have when I build it!
P.S. Almost forgot the number of piece count! I dunno, perhaps over 3000? Cus I took down an entire Palace Cinema and a few Castles to finish it.
