Lego Brick Separator-New Version
Lego Brick Separator-New Version
Hopefully this hasn't been posted yet, but I just read an interesing article on thebrickblogger.com about an interesting new piece coming out. It's a brand new version of the good old Lego Brick Separator.
Follow the link to check it out: http://thebrickblogger.com/2011/09/lego ... w-version/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
What do you think? It definately has a sleeker design. It'll probably cost as much as the last one.
It's also included in the LEGO #10230 Mini Modulars set .

Very cool. I think the new capabilities look great. Thanks for letting us know it will be in the Mini Modulars set!
Re: Lego Brick Separator-New Version
I think it's a definite improvement. The new tile removing thinness of the back end is very welcome. I actually found myself trying to flip the old one around and do that a couple times, but of course it's too thick. The technic pin is a welcome addition, too. I can't wait to get one. I hope they sell them separately (I'm sure they will).
They sell the old ones in individual bags at my local brand store. And TRU sells the separator and measurement tool together.

That's cool, good to see improvements made to an already impressive tool. The great thing is that brick separators work best in pairs, so even if you already have one of the old ones buying the new one won't make it obsolete - you can use both together!

Axle and jumper removal are most welcomed.

Good on Lego for taking the time to improve on an already useful product. I'm glad I held off on buying a second brick separator. Will definitely pick this one up when it's available!

That looks sweet. I'll have to get four, two for me and two for my nephew.
Re: Lego Brick Separator-New Version
Well I hope they make it in chrome gold.

if you use it, it'll flake. then what's the point in chroming it?Zeya wrote:Well I hope they make it in chrome gold.
Re: Lego Brick Separator-New Version
I was joking. Chrome would flake and wear off. Also, I think most of the "special colors" use different physical materials. Transparent plastic that TLG uses always seems rougher and sharper on my fingers. Chrome gold flakes. Pearl gold seems to be softer. Of course this could be partly my imagination. But those material/colors wouldn't be the most durable for a separator.natelite wrote:if you use it, it'll flake. then what's the point in chroming it?Zeya wrote:Well I hope they make it in chrome gold.

Will definitely buy at least two of these. Now I won't ahve to pry my fingernails underneath the 1x1 tiles just to remove them.
