We have a fat cat who loves tuna. Tossing around an idea about a cat treadmill, w/ tuna @ one end. It would have to be enclosed, or she'd just jump on it from the other end and eat the tuna.
We have the latest version of the robot (Christmas 2015), so we have the motors, and should have sensors to stop the treadmill when the cat gets to the tuna, a sensor to start the treadmill when the cat enters the box, and one about halfway to speed up the treadmill so Katie won't get the tuna too easily.
Right now I'm envisioning a long box, about the length of a couple of large shoeboxes. Cat smells the tuna, puts her paws on the track, the track starts slowly. Once she figures that out, she'll jump on the track and start moving towards the tuna. About halfway down the tuna tunnel, she'll trip the IR sensor, and the track will speed up, causing her to really trot to reach the tuna. Once she gets to the tuna, the track slowly comes to a stop, allowing her her just reward.
Cat treadmill?
