This is my very first attempt in creating any type of a MOC. I built a lot of the SW sets before and now getting into the modular sets. I'd seen a couple of the modular sets at the Lego store and other MOC that fans did on the internet, however, I never own/build one. So, when I end up with three 7573 POP Battle of the Alamut sets, I decided to challenge myself to create one using parts and pieces from 2 sets of 7573. This is what I end up with: a building with 2 floors -- first floor has the gold shop inside and a market outside, and the second floor housed the bar/restaurant.
It will probably be out-of-place next to the Green Grocer, Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, and/or Cafe Corner.
Any criticisms, opinions, and suggestions is welcome.

[MOC] Modular building using PoP sets
Re: [MOC] Modular building using PoP sets
Very cool, iamFLIP - I like the idea of taking sets and turning them on their ear - "FLIPping" them, so to speak ;) - in fact, I'm thinking of building a spaceship out of the pieces from the Emerald Night.
The details here are great, especially the architectural designs on the front. Way to go!

LEGO, it's not just a toy, it's an addiction... ;)

Impressive use of relatively limited pieces. (combining 2 sets). I like your creation better than the original set.
You might think it would be out of place in a city block, but there was a building like yours on K street in Sacramento shoved between some typical ones, although I think it may be torn down by now for redevelopment. I wish I could find a picture.

My favorite is the BBQ pit. Roasting a golden scorpion though, there must be a better use for it!

There's only that or the camels I can used from 7573 set. The camel was too big for the pit.legitimatealex wrote:My favorite is the BBQ pit. Roasting a golden scorpion though, there must be a better use for it!
