But now, we're already cutting Legos. (Yes, I'm clearly a heretic @ this point, I'll make up the plurals as I go along.) So why stop at just drilling holes that didn't exist before? What is needed to tie the entire work together is a 2x12 plate running the entire length. But our 3x4 curved tile conflicts with that - and is needed to cover up part of the 1911 magwell. Hmm. What if we cut a 1x4 slot in our 2x12 plate? Then it would fit.
What if we want to strengthen the grips further? Well, there is almost enough room in the magwell to take a 3x7 plate - you'd have to trim the ends a bit. But you can't buy a 3x7 plate on Bricklink. :) But we can CUT a 4x8 plate to a 3x7 plate. We were gonna trim one of the corners anyway. And we were going to trim the bottom a bit anyway - ooh, we could use a baseplate, couldn't we? We only need a 6x7 baseplate...

If my MOC is declared a machinegun by the government, there could be a slight issue in our joint hobby:
(From the Federal definition of a machinegun)
The term shall also include the frame or receiver of any such weapon, any part designed and intended solely and exclusively, or combination of parts designed and intended, for use in converting a weapon into a machinegun, and any combination of parts from which a machinegun can be assembled if such parts are in the possession or under the control of a person.
I think there are already illegal LEGO assemblies, as Technic bricks have the perfect diameter hole to make air rifle suppressors, so possession of Technic bricks and a .177 air rifle may already be a felony.
