Featured Poll: November 8-14
This week's question is on our forums. Is there a need to have our Sales & Deals forum branched out into two new sub-forums? (i.e we could have a forum for weekly sales and promotions and another forum for clearances and store specific sales) This separatation will hopefully make it easier for our members to find what they are looking for. As usual, comments and suggestions are more than welcome here.
Is there a need to separate our Sales & Deals forum into two sub-forums?

Woah, dead heat right now. I was NOT expecting that. I voted 'no' because there is a very small distinction between a sale and, say, a clearance.
I can see the benefit of splitting it up, but on the other hand it could lead to confusion as to where to post certain things.

I could see the desire to filter posts between clearance notices such as PoP at Walmart versus weekly flyer deals at Target for select sets. Though I think people would like to see all the deals on one listing. perhaps we could tag 'clearance' some how in the topic line or use a different icon?

I would say yes, but how would we separate them? I really have no idea.
Except for this one.
Coupons vs Sales.
Good idea?

I don't know about that, as a lot of the coupons have been applicable to sale items recently, so it's really like an enhanced sale.

It's probably best to keep them all together as long as people list when the sale or coupon is valid, which store, and where (specifically which store), since sometimes clearances are for specific stores only as we've seen with Target many times, where two Targets in one town will have different prices on an item that may be on clearance in one store, but not another.

I voted no. As long as the proper thread title nomenclature is used, I see no reason for it. I can easily skip the Canadian threads or the Meijer threads, for instance. I would however like to see the Star Wars subforum made to be it's own forum. Several times recently I've had to click through the Licensed forum to get to the SW with the Licensed having no new content. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

I second the separating of the SW Forums. I know it falls under there technically, but SW just has taken on it's own LEGO life.

I guess you're right. Either way, in the end it all ends up being a money amount off of LEGO.

I think it would be a good idea to split it. But I don't know how it can be split up into.
Maybe Special Promotions and Weekly Sales?

Honestly, I'm not sure. And you should have offered a third option for those of us that aren't sure, because I'm not going to vote either way.
If we don't split the forum, maybe we could look into color coding posts by country or coming up with a better {tag} system for heading posts so people know the difference between sales and clearance notifications.

Yeah tags would be best.
