The villains is much better (cooler) than the heroes. I wonder if the vehicle sets with the villains are the same sizer as the regular ones.

Looks like a lot of organic type elements. I can see a lot of these pieces being integrated in to MOCs for foliage, trees, thorns, etc...

Whew... more pieces to collect now :)

In the storyline, are they robots like Transformers or humans in armor?

from lego microsite...

The Hero Factory designs, builds and dispatches robot heroes to fight villains, solve crises and restore peace across the galaxy – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The Factory is situated in the amazing Makuhero City, a modern, sprawling metropolis with a rich multitude of neighborhoods, and home to millions of living robots.

so just robots.

I hadn't really looked at it before, so I wasn't sure what was new.
The 2 vehicles look interesting, particularly the drop ship.

None ever accused TRU of knowing what they are actually selling. :D

Anyway, nice parts and weapons.

I don't quite understand why everyone cares they are basically bionicle.

When they rename other themes, (i.e. the castle/knights kingdom/kingdom) people are ok with it, why cant they rename Bionicle to make a new story but have same basic designs?

Because Bionicle was sacred as far as LEGO lines went. I personally wasn't a fan after the first line (I got every single one of the original sets), but people were crazy for Bionicle to the point of fanaticism. It was a real 'action figure' line of LEGO that was still LEGO. It created its own line of different builds like Castle and Space originally did and it had a real story line to it in the background that was fleshed out substantially.

The change from Bionicle to Hero Factory is controversial to the fans of Bionicle because:
1. The name is stupid.
2. People still want more Bionicle story and back story.
3. LEGO is clearly trying to cash in on what Bionicle was for their new line while further reducing pieces by making them even larger, thus simplifying them further.

Hope this clears it up. Feel free to add your reasons.

Ah, makes sense.
I bought all the first line as well, but was about it.
I did however buy the green hero, and I like her.
Might get me back into this "action figure" line.
So in my book it is a good thing, bu ii understand why others disagree.
