Re: LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter
That is the best looking LEGO Tie Fighter I have seen, I love the wings.
Re: LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter & Queen Amidala (LEGO 94
I will probably be getting at least two of those Tie's . Also nice to see the new head for the R5 unit.

If only. I'm guessing around $100. It's not your ordinary tie fighter. Looks like the ucs version. I guess this means x-wing is coming soon? A ucs version.yoda99 wrote:I'm guessing a price point close to the Tie Defender.

I had the same thought when I first looked at it because the wings are big. However, as I looked closer, I found that same/similar parts for set 8017 had been used. If UCS, the body/central part should be more complicated.natelite wrote: If only. I'm guessing around $100. It's not your ordinary tie fighter. Looks like the ucs version. I hope the MSRP will be no more than $50

I am guessing at least 60. That is why they put in 4 minifigs instead of the 2 in the poor selling tie defender.

I'm inclined to agree with you because the set is similar in size to the T-6 shuttle.eriochrome wrote:I am guessing at least 60. That is why they put in 4 minifigs instead of the 2 in the poor selling tie defender.

Intresting Droid Head piece and I think improved shape of the Naval trooper helmet.

the bubble window for some reason doesn't really sit well with me.
is it because the roundness protrudes out of the pod or maybe it isn't closer properly.

I think the TIE looks cool, but to change things up a bit, how about a comment on the Queen Amidala fig? I mean, it's about friggin' time, right?! Hopefully it will be in a set of her silver Naboo ship. You would've thought with all the outfits Padme has that in 12 years we would've had a set that was something else than the same Tatooine Padme. I am looking forward to the upcoming sets of the new year. I'm also crossing my fingers for a Pre Vizla as well.
Re: LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter & Queen Amidala (LEGO 94
On the padme subject it looks like its a regular minifig face and not a CW face. Meaning it will probably be a more recognizable ship or set, as opposed to an obscure ship only CW fans would recognize.

Yes, it's reasonable up until the fact that each mold is used once only. Plus the approach in the past has been about what kids want. Specifically male from 7 to 12. At that age group, Amidala is not really a priority.ytjedi wrote:I think the TIE looks cool, but to change things up a bit, how about a comment on the Queen Amidala fig? sometimes it's a big risk. Take that guy with the big hat in the imperial shuttle. Total flop. One mold and still the ship doesn't sell as well. The approach with new molds should be like the darth maul sith infiltrator. 4 new figures in one set. I think it'll be popular.
Re: LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter & Queen Amidala (LEGO 94
I will have to agree that this set will probably be at the same price point as the defender. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits $60 because of the amount of figs included in this set.
Re: LEGO Star Wars 9492 Tie Fighter & Queen Amidala (LEGO 94
I agree!!! It is about time they had a Queen Amidala figure!! I think it would be cool if she came with her silver ship, but I think she will end up being in a Theed Palace set. A few guards, Qui gon Jinn, etc.ytjedi wrote:I think the TIE looks cool, but to change things up a bit, how about a comment on the Queen Amidala fig? I mean, it's about friggin' time, right?! I might actually have to buy the new TIE Fighter and I haven't any Star Wars sets since Endor Bunker and Home One.
