A "NASA tax" like the "Star Wars tax"? ;) I wouldn't be surprised. The Satellite Launch Platform looks like it won't be much more than 100 pieces and it costs $20.

At least the NASA sets are sets that we haven't seen for quite a while!

I find paying a "NASA tax" more appealing than paying the "Star Wars tax", since NASA could actually use the money, whereas Lucas has more than he knows what to do with.

Ya I think that the license really drives up the prices just like the "Harry Potter tax". I really hope that the extra money we had to pay would result in printed pieces and not stickers in these sets. But I have a good feeling it will be stickers again if you look closely at the picture.

I don't know. None of the pictures look clear enough to me to tell if there are stickers yet.

Wow, that's a lot of trans-blue tiles on the space station!

So, is that wing piece without studs on the shuttle a new piece? I don't recall seeing it. Also, the pods around the top engines looked to be a solid white version of the canopy from 'Raid VPR', but they have a HINGE at the front! I'm a little disappointed in the use of the BUPP (big useless plane piece) for the cockpit, but understand the need to stretch the value for the mold a bit more.

I'm loving the ISS. I've been planning to do a MOC of the ISS but this saves me some of the trouble. It's missing the large mast and solar panels on the Russia Module and a couple of modules on the US section at the front. I do love the fact that it has two Soyuz/Progress space capsules attached!

Anybody know how the size of the NASA shuttle compares with the 10213 Shuttle Adventure?

Just off the top of my head, I'd say a LOT smaller. For an estimate, I'd say between half to one-third as tall if standing on a launchpad.

Well this is a delightful surprise to see. I can't believe my eyes and see that LEGO actually created the ISS space station.

After looking at the pic it's evident that the mast and solar panels are missing. Otherwise a very nice set to look forward to in 2011.

Those police trucks looks very advance with the side lifting up (especially police dog assignment). Don't really think the police helicopter should be special edition since its very similar to the fire helicopter and the helicopter with limo.

Same set, different color. I wonder if LEGO realizes the similarity and still puts it out because they think people will buy it, or they are completely oblivious to the fact that the same. It seems that you could probably just buy one and be set.

How much will this be? I'm almost sure that retail for this is not $70 as listed on ebay.
