The LEGO Movie & Ultra Agents Summer 2014 Pictures
Re: The LEGO Movie & Ultra Agents Summer 2014 Pictures
So far I only have one set (Tremor Track Infiltration) which doesn't have those style of guns but does have one of the new stud-shooter guns (from the LEGO Movie) in white.

I meant I only have one set from the line, and that it doesn't have that style of gun - it could be misread that I have only one set that doesn't have that style of gun.

After watching the movie, I was surprised that they never made a set for MetalBeard's ship, Benny's Spaceship, and Emmet's Mech. That's good they made them. I gotta get Benny but don't want the whole set.

I know, I saw the trailer and it has cool features (it even has AstroKitty!!!) but my priority is Unikitty first. My goals have been distracted by all the sales going on And I don't have enough money eithervynsane wrote:Dude, the set is awesome!JustBrickin wrote:I gotta get Benny but don't want the whole set.

I prefer the Octan flyer in the Spaceshipx4 set. Benny's ship doesn't grab me though. Not sure why. I wouldn't say no it if it was gifted to me but I wouldn't actively seek it out. Shame they didn't make a set of the smaller neoclassic ship from the Benny movie poster. That would have been sweet.

Oh excellent! Thanks for that. I'd seen the ship during a google image search for something unrelated, (google does like to throw in curve balls), but didn't follow that trail. I'll definitely give it a go, with minor tweaks. Just have to find the parts...

Hmm the Unikitty shown at SDCC (not the giveaway one) hints at the submarine being a January set. Unikitty has two faces like the SDCC giveaway but is shown sitting and one of her faces is crying. Exactly like the scene from the movie where she watches the pieces of Cloud Cuckoo land sinking in the ocean from inside the sub.
I can't imagine a submarine set being the full size but as with the Sea Cow, a reduced scale version would be entirely feasible. It's really only the bat wings at the stern, the scuba piggy at the bow and the graffiti and wild west conning tower that make it. As long as those were there it shouldn't really be affected by a reduction in scale. There's really not a lot going on inside in the movie so just a simple space large enough to get two or three minifigs in would be fine. I could be barking up the wrong tree here but why else would Lego be producing a seated and crying Unikitty?
The Batman and Super Angry Kitty Attack set is fairly small leaving room for larger sets in a third wave of movie sets. The sub and maybe the copper chopper, Octan supply spaceship and a couple of smaller impulse sets would make a decent wave. It'd be a shame if there were no location based sets though. As fun as the vehicles are it would be nice to see some stuff from the Old West (saloon interior and Vitruvius' room) or the Middle Zealand castle (Vitruvius' Kragle hiding place).
Even a City style set that amalgamates several bits of Brisksburg, say a small coffee chain coffee shop with a bit of the main plaza (trees, President Business' rules signage and the yellow cube sculpture) and a bit of residential area. Just enough of a flavour to give some of the vehicle sets and micromanagers context. With Bricksburg they could always throw in Larry the Barrista's flying vehicle or other crazy creations. Those seem to be very popular with kids and TFOLs/AFOLs.
The Old West saloon scene had some fantastic looking characters, and while Lego has given us some, they haven't given us the really cool ones, Odd Ollie, Wild Will, Prospector, the Mexican bandit or Cowboy Harry. Not to mention the outstanding Super Secret Police horse. Then there's the saloon itself with the Fabuland heads on the wall, The plethora of 'photos' and wanted posters and Bob and Skelley the skeleton memorial. Not to mention Vituvius' insane room up top. Obviously Lego couldn't give us an exact replica, but again, something of a flavour of it would be good. I think lego would be missing out on a golden opportunity by not offering location based sets.

I was thinking about this, and Dr Brains from Power Miners did show up in Atlantis, so it is completely possible it is same Solomon blaze.vynsane wrote:Can't believe I didn't pick up on this, but what appears to be the leader of the Agents has the same name as the original Galaxy Squad blue team leader: Solomon Blaze.
GS seems to be more far-flung in the future, whereas UA seems to be "15 minutes in the future". Since the Solomon Blaze in UA is older, with gray hair and mustache, and his counterpart in GS is younger, I'm guessing the UA version is anywhere from the father to great-great-great-great grandfather of the one in GS.
